....even though my babies were born in January I just discovered this wonderful board that I can totally relate to!
It's hard thinking back to January and thinking about how everything happened. I had my 4D U/S done on Weds and ended up in the hospital on Thrs. I started having random contractions and held off a couple of days on calling the Dr thinking they were Braxton Hicks since I was 25 weeks pregnant with twins. Finally when I called they suggested I come in. When I came in the Dr discovered that I was 4 cm dilated and the membranes were bulging out. I will never forget the expression on her face and how I felt knowing that I could deliver that same day. After being admitted and put on tons of drugs they were able to somewhat stop the contractions - there were still some but not as frequent. I spent a couple days in L&D and then was transferred to the Ante-Partum section. I spent 4 days there on strict bedrest and living in fear that I could deliver any day now. Waking up Fri morning I saw blood when I went to the bathroom. The Dr checked on me and I was already at 8 cm and my water broke without me even knowing. There was no way out, the babies had to come out at 26 weeks. I was terrified just thinking if they will make it. I heard them cry but didn't get even a glimpse before they were taken away from us. Our daughter was born first weighing 2lbs5ozs and then our son weighing 1lb14ozs. They spent about 3 months in the hospital, my son came home three weeks before my daughter. They had no major issues except for the MRSA infection, ROP, and one blood transfusion. They are my little miracles!!!
I am excited to get to know all of you!
FYI - I had heck of a time doing my siggy etc, therefore I have no idea what it looks like.
Re: New on this board...
Welcome & congratulations - I'm looking forward to hearing from you in the future!
Tip: when playing with your siggy just refresh the page. It will forever appear exactly as it looks in that moment (old posts won't have old siggy). Oh & if you have a blog you should add it. Yup. That's all I've got
Welcome! My story is similar to yours as well except I never felt any contractions.
Congrats on having your twins home and healthy!
Our precious girl, born at 27 weeks.
