Baby Names

I love Benjamin...DH does not

I am only 5 weeks pregnant but I love baby names so my little mind is busy, busy. For a DS I love the name Benjamin Leo (Leo for my Dad and pretty important to me), but my husband is lukewarm about the FN. Anyone have any suggestions that are close that I can bring to the table? For the record, my dearest husband does not have any suggestions of his own because he is being all logical that we have plenty of timeConfused

  • I would give it more time. You don't even know if it's a boy yet! Wait it out and see if it grows on him. You might change your mind completely.

  • If you were planning on calling him Ben, you could also use Bennett.

  • I agree with DH.
  • Truth is - you do have plenty of time. Keep throwing names out there. Have DH make his own list, but truth of the matter my H didn't want to talk names in the serious sence until after we knew the sex.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.

  • Just keep pushing the name on him to see if he warms up to it. DH wasn't to keene on Amari at first but he came to love it. =D

You could also use Benjamin for a MN.

Leo Benjamin sounds very cute. =]

  • I agree... give him more time! You might be having a girl and not even need to spend all the time trying to convince.

DH and I have a hard time agreeing with names. If he's not crazy about something I write it down and keep looking. Lots of times when I come back to the original name I like he's warmed up to it a little more.

  • Aww... but it's such a nice name.

You really do have a lot of time, though. You may find another name you love, or your baby might not even be a boy. Then again, maybe you can use this time to convince your husband that Benjamin Leo is a great name!

What is his objection to it, anyway?

  • I love Benjamin (it's DH's name), and we plan to use it for our first son.  Other names similar to it in style are: Julian, Sebastian, Oliver, Simon, and Desmond.
