Cloth Diapering

Anyone use tea tree oil in the wash?

I heard somewhere that this works great if some diapers have the stinkies.  The few MF BGs I have are getting a funk and I thought about trying some TTO in the wash with them instead of stripping.  Anyone do this and how much/when do I put it in?

  • I have!  It worked really well.  I put three drops in after the water had filled.
  • I don't have tea tree oil in my house because I'm scared my cats will get into it.  It's highly toxic to them.

It is toxic to cats... but so is the toilet bowl cleaner DH insists upon. My cat has no contact with my diapers, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Most sources I'm seeing say 2-3 drops in the final rinse.

I do my disinfecting in the sun - do you dry outside? I really think it helps.
