Pregnant after IF

Bras?

As I'm sure many of you can relate, my bras are starting to get tight, but I'm still wearing them.  However, sometimes I pop out.  I'm wondering if I should buy a new bra or two now or wait, since I assume they'll get bigger.  What did you do?

Re: Bras?

  • I bought a couple inexpensive ones from Target in a larger size when I outgrew my regular ones pretty early on.  I've heard they will change sizes several times, so I'm prepared to buy more when the time comes.  If you are popping out, it might be time to go shopping. ;)

  • I had to get new ones by 15w and found I had gone up a whole cup size and band size!  I couldn't believe it!  Thankfully they have leveled out for now so I'm still good with the ones I bought then.  I'm hoping to hold out until my milk comes in so I can figure out what size nursing bras I will need and just buy those.  I didn't spend a ton on these bras, but they've been great so far... found them at JCPenney, they always have good BOGO sales!

  • I bought up a cup size earlier in this pregnancy when I started popping out. I just bought some inexpensive ones from Target since I couldn't justify spending a lot when I didn't know how big I would end up. I second the PP who said that if you're popping out, it's time for new ones!

  • I bought a few from Target's clearance rack at first... which I actually ended up loving. I need to go and get a few bigger ones again, but at this point, I'm wondering if I just wait to get fitted for my nursing bras...

  • Unfortunately I can't bras at Target and mine aren't cheap (I wear a size 34-36G) so I tried to hold off until I absolutely needed to. I bought one around 14-16 weeks because mine were fitting a bit tight and so far I haven't had to move up another size (woo!). I hope they dont get any bigger because these bras are at least $60+ each.

I'm having issues finding nursing bras now. not fun.

  • I admittedly spent some good money on new bras at Macy's and am glad I did - they fit and I feel much more supported. I only had to go up a band size and I figured even if I have to buy bigger ones again along the way, these will probably still come in useful again at some point.

  • My bras also started getting tight a few weeks ago. I went to Ross and got two, name brand bras in a bigger size for like $7 each. I didn't want to spend a ton since I will buy nursing bras in a few weeks. I am a much happier lady in my big-girl bra and panties. :)

  • I got some bra extenders at Walmart that helped up until now... maybe you can try that to see if it helps at all if you dont want to fork over the $$ now.  You can try it in the store to see.    For me, right now I think they fit fine still (actually I dont have to use the extenders anymore... go figure)  but the underwires are KILLING ME.

  • i bought one bra from victoria's secret and i love it - i went up 1 cup size in my first tri. unfortunately it's my only bra, lol, so i'm washing it all the time!

my breasts haven't gotten any larger since i bought the bra, so i think if i stay this way i will prolly just hold on to this bra until i need a nursing bra.

  • I bought nursing bras at Motherhood Maternity around 14 weeks when I started getting bigger. Since you're making the investment into new bras, maybe you can get nursing ones so they can last longer?

  • I love love love Spanx bras.  I know they are pricey, but totally worth it.  I bought two a cup size up from my regular size (same band size) and have been wearing those for about 2 months now.  The stretchy material they are made from seems to be quite forgiving.
TTC Child #1 Sept '08, Dx: Unexplained, DOR 2 IUI's = BFN, m/c, IVF 1 = 0 embies to put back, IVF 2 = BFN, IVF 3 = cancelled, IVF 4 = BFP with 1 embie. Our son came into our life on 9/28/11. We are in love! Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • I bought 3 bigger bras around 18 weeks and bought 4 additional ones around 24 weeks.  Now I have enough to get through the week.  I want to start thinking about nursing bras too and might go in for a fitting for that soon.

  • I got this bra sometime during the end of my first trimester/beginning of my second trimester:

    https://www.amazon.com/Bravado-Designs-Seamless-Maternity-Butterscotch/dp/B003ZNBCHO/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1312846985&sr=8-6

I got it in a size larger than the chart said to get, and it has been great.  It still fits now.

  • I had the same problem and instead of buying new bras I bought extenders. I got them in a pack of 6 (2 nude, 2 white, 2 black) for $8.00. It saved me from spending money on new bras. The extension has helped tremendously and so far, I haven't had to go up a size in my bras. I got my extenders at Belk. HTH.

  • Sleep bras at Kohls - I think they are like Barely There and have no wire and are beautiful. Also, the houdini bras which help with the "nipple issue" that sleep bras do not protect against, and also have no wire and no clasp! So far I'm doing really well with these but have yet to find a nursing bra I love (found Stella by Bravado from Target which I think I will be able to live with).
After 2 losses, IVF #2 brought us our little boys.
