Transfer Complete

Well I'm back from my transfer. They transferred one expanded blast quality BB. She said it is exactly what they look for so it was good! She suspects there will be 2 - 5 to freeze!

I asked twice about transferring two but they were very adamant on only recommending to transfer one so we went with that.

Thanks for all the good thoughts over the past couple weeks!!

    Sending T&P's for a sticky emby.

    My RE's office is pro-single embryo transfer for patients under 35 that have high grade embryos.  Will only do two if they're are a lower grade.  He said transferring more than one high grade doesn't increase a patients overall chance of success, but rather increases chance of twins.

    Thank you for saying this! I have felt like my clinic was alone in this and was making me question it. It seems everyone gets two transferred so I have been worrying about it.

    Hurray for blast transfer and having some to freeze! My clinic will transfer 2 blasts for women in my age group, but I'm the one who is very adamant about only transferring one - and my RE agrees and is very supportive. The success rate increase doesn't make up for the much large increased risk of twins IMO.

    Sticky vibes coming your way. I am also trying for just one to transfer because I have a mild heart condition. It's hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that only transferring one doesn't reduce our chances, but mathematically, it's true.
    TTC #1 since June 2010
    Me: 36, DH: 42
    Dx: DOR and MFI

    DH: low count + very low motility; hormones all normal; Sperm DNA Frag. test = poor to fair; male karyotyping normal
    Me: FSH 13.4 + AMH 0.26 + hypothyroidism; Scratch the hypothyrodism (?); Blood clotting and immune panel all negative; endometrial biopsy normal

    IVF #1 (MDLF - Jul/Aug 2011): BFN (9R, 5M, 3F with ICSI, 3dt of 1 10-cell grade 2, no frosties)
    IVF #2 (EP-antagonist - Sep/Oct 2011): BFN (6R, 4M, 3F w/ ICSI, 3dt of 1 6-cell, 1 7-cell, grade 4s, no frosties)
