Just a quick question for all the mom's of 2 under 2. How do you keep up being pregnant and having a toddler? I just started (my pregnancy) and I am exhausted when I get home from work - and running after a toddler for 3 hours after that wipes me out completely. Morning sickness hasn't even started yet - so far I am just mildly nauseous on and off.
DH is helping out a lot but I also don't want to give up that little precious time I have with DD during the week (after work).

Re: How do you keep up?
ultimately, you just do what you have to do! It's certainly much harder than your first pregnancy when you can put your feet up after work, nap whenever, and sleep in on weekends.
I found 1st tri to be the hardest. Even when I was at my biggest near the end it wasn't as hard as battling the exhaustion of my 1st trimester. I did a lot of "playing" with Drew on the floor - where he would play and I would lay there and close my eyes. He likes driving cars and trucks up and down my back and legs - it actually feels pretty good! We still do that when I'm wiped out from a long night with Lizzy.
Don't be afraid to let DH help. Sometimes we'd all be together and I'd ask DH to just take the lead - he'd be the one to chase him down if he left the room or change diapers, etc. You'll get your energy back soon!
For me, the first trimester was just really hard and I had to power through. I worked full time, wanted to spend time with DD after work, and my husband was gone a good portion (weeks 6 through 9 he was away for work). I was totally exhausted.
But I survived. And my daughter did fine
. I just went to bed ridiculously early (with DD basically) and tried to make sure I ate healthy foods, drank tons of water, and stayed as healthy as possible.
You'll make it! One day at a time...

No more TTC for us. We are done, and at peace, as a family of 4.

For me, I think I forget what it feels like not to be tired. I kind of just go with it and assume it to be my new norm!
Just remember you will get some energy back w=once you are out of the 1st tri!
Thanks ladies!
It is nice to know that you guys are all doing it - just one day at a time. We don't have any friends or family in the area so sometimes it feels like we are all alone in this.
This is me too. I felt pretty good until about two weeks ago. Now that the aches and pains have set in in full force (earlier than last time), I feel like I'm getting no rest. I toss and turn all night and I'm go-go-go all day. Even going to bed early doesn't help anymore because laying in bed is torture on my hips and back. I hated this phase being pg w/DS too and I hate it even more since it came earlier this time around. Boooo! But you do what you have to do.
