Potty Training

Convert to toddler bed for PT?

I've been under the assumption that I need to convert the crib to a toddler bed before potty training.  My thought is that DD will need to be able to get in and out of her bed to go to the bathroom as needed, after she is full blown potty trained.

Am I accurate with my assumption?

Re: Convert to toddler bed for PT?

  • My kids were PT at 15 & 17 months old (and they were staying dry at night) there was no way I was converting them into a bed!  If/when they had to go they just talked into the monitor and said potty please.  We always woke up and took them.  It doesn't happen every day (for my oldest its very rare) so its no big deal at all.  My oldest is now in a toddler bed but we don't give him free range of the upstairs- he has to talk into the monitor to leave his room.
