Wiping their own butt?

Nursery school starts in 3 weeks and they said DS had to be potty trained and they are "hands off" so now pulling pants up and down and I assume no wiping...I am hoping he doesn't poop there, but eventually I am sure he will.  We have just got PT down pat, for about 3 weeks or so.  I never have tried having DS wipe himself but can't imagine at such an early age this is even do-able....At what age do you think they can learn this??

At the DC DD1 attends they practice sitting on the potty and wiping themselves beginning at 18 mo.  DD1 actually prefers the independence of wiping herself.  She won't even let me help.  If she has a messy BM I will help after she attempted to clean herself first.  I would think any responsible adult will help in those situations as well.  I would teach your DS to go through the motions and explain to the DCP they may need to wipe after his attempts.
