Anyone doing a belly cast?

Some of my friends and my sister are coming over tomorrow night and doing one on me. I didn't have much of a choice I guess. I'm going to keep it white and paint some simple design on it to match her nursery and put one of my favorite quotes on it. Hopefully it turns out good. I guess I'll post pictures Someone else do one so I don't feel all alone!

My friend did this, but I will not. I am "Phat" and don't think it would look as cute and adorable as the ones I have seen.  My belly cast would take up a entire nursery wall....LMAO!!!

My friend also posted like weekly pictures on FB of her bump painted in various themes...her sister loved painting her bump.  Also cute, but not for me.

Please share pictures...I do think they are adorable, but not for me. Have fun!

I like the idea, but with our lack of space here and our moving so frequently (military family)..its just not practical for us.

My cousin did them with both her boys pregnancies.  She has them hanging on the wall in  her master bedroom.  Its amazing how differently she carried with the two pregnancies.

That is kinda cool, I never really thought of that, but I want to do one now. Seems kind of fun and quirky. Definitely a conversation starter. Plus when your daughter is pregnant someday it will be cool for you to have that to show her. I'd love to know how my mom's belly with me compares to mine.

What are you going to do with it after your LO gets older? 

I'm excited to see your pictures.

Okay so I just googled it, and I have to ask, are you doing the kind that includes the boobs?

 

I'm pretty proud of my boobs these days and I'm sure they'll never look this good again, but it also seems too raunchy to have them included. Maybe it would just make me sad to have a permanent reminder of how perky they once were...

You can buy a kit or just go to the craft store and buy rolled plaster gauze. Way cheaper

When my friend did one she did just the belly and I think it looked kinda weird--hard to tell what it is supposed to be.

I'm not sure what I'll do with it when she gets bigger. Probably just store it and save it so she can see it when she's maybe pg.

I like that. I definitely think it will be cool to have in the future, for both of you.

They look like fun to do, but I wouldn't have a place to put one.  I am a borderline hoarder, so its not a good idea for me to make large sentimental items such as a belly cast!    Hope you have fun doing yours though!!

I think they look cool and are a neat reminder of how much your body changes in pregnancy. Please show us a pip of the finished product! :-)

I in no way consider myself skinny We will see if I like it or if it just looks waaay too huge

I didn't...but if you do, for the love of all that's holy, please don't put pics of you applying the cast (you are naked by the way) on FB like my cousin did. I didn't need to see that many nekkid pics of his baby momma and her large PG nips.The image is forever burned into my head.

We're gonna do one too.  My DH is an art teacher and he wants to put the cast in his studio.  I'm gonna wait until I'm about 3-4 weeks away from my due date before we do the cast though.  It may end up turning in to a canvas for him to paint...I'm not what he has in mind for it long term.

I so wanted to do this but my DD was super active. There would of been no way to contain her movement during the drying process:) Can't wait to see how yours turns out!

This seems like a cool idea.  It would be fun to hold it up to my body long after being pregnant to compare.  However, I just would never want to part with it and we have a hard enough time storing things as it is.

I'm not going to decide on this one until I see how my bump ends up looking.  If it ends up being really cute I probably will, otherwise I will skip it.

I promise no nudity I'm going to be wearing some sort of bra and shorts or pants. And with my lovely stretch marks, I would only show pics with my belly covered.

I did one a few years ago for my friend and his wife. I'm waiting to see what I look like in a few weeks to decide if I'm going to do one myself . . . I'm kind of a thick girl to begin with.
