Wish I was a better cook

Well for risotto I may need to be a chef.  I can't stop thinking about a creamy risotto.  I have NO clue how to make it & I have NO idea where I can get one in town.  The last (& only) time I had one was in Ohio!  ::sigh::

Anyone know an easy to make recipe?  Or my Omaha area ladies know of a place that serves a great one?  Darn these cravings Sad

    Oh gawd...I tried making risotto one time...never again. It takes like an hour and you have to stir it the ENTIRE time and add chicken broth like ever ten minutes. Does Trader Joes make a frozen version?

    We have a Trader Joes, I will have to check there.  If they have it that will fall into the category of easy Wink

    I made a risotto from an online recipe once. It was sooooo good! 

    Now, I have never actually eaten one that a real chef has made, so I have nothing to compare it to, but it was still delicious!

    Trader joes makes an asparagus risotto that's pretty yummy :)  As far as making one yourself, I've just used recipes (on foodnetwork.com) and haven't found it hard, but as pp said, it is time consuming.  You have to pay attention to it the whole time.

    There's a recipe on allrecipes.com for bacon risotto. I made it last week and it was really good!

    Clucky!  I didn't know you're in Omaha!  So am I :)  Let me know if you find any at TJ's...I may need to make a trip as well!

    I LOVE making risotto - I find all the stirring cathartic... but I really love to cook!  It's really not difficult - just very time consuming... and "active" as far as cooking goes!  

     But! If you're not up for an hour in the kitchen, Target's Archer Farms brand makes a really delicious box mix - I like the asparagus the best but the roasted red pepper and butternut squash is good too!
