If you can remember what products you use could you name them? My husband does a fertilizer once in the spring and once in the fall and it doesn't do ***. And we need a weed killer desperately, but practically for our whole yard. Ugh. We're in a new development and the grass seed they dropped when we built sucked. So I'm trying to correct the problem that we've obviously let go on too long...

I just asked DH.  He does a 10-10-10 fertilizer (outside in the lawn and garden at Lowes..much cheaper than Scotts, and came highly recommended) in early spring, Then 12-12-12 fertilizer mid summer.  In early fall he does a 13-13-13 fertilizer.  In between, and at least a day after mowing, he attaches Weed Be gone hose sprayer to the garden hose and sprays the lawn and landscape beds.  We save more than $150 a year from what we were paying TruGreen.
