u/s pics question?

So, at our u/s on Weds, they took LOTS of pictures (preliminary anatomical stuff), but we only got a copy of one of them. A lot of the ones they took for that were a lot better than the one we got a copy of. :(

If I asked nicely, do you think they'd give me copies (maybe via email, so it's free for them?) of the others, too?

Have any of you ladies asked for anything like that? What happened??

Re: u/s pics question?

  • Personally I wouldn't ask for different pictures. They do it as a courtesy and are not there to be your personal ute photog.

  • I have been given one @ each visit.  They have all been fine but I wouldn't ask for others if I wasn't satisfied.  If you want some of the others, maybe they can photo copy them for you, I know the quality won't be so great but atleast you will have them.  If they e-mail them to you, I think they would have to scan them which would cause extra work.

  • The pics are likely saved in the machine. You could ask if they wouldn't mind printing off a few more, and you could go pick them up. It would be a lot less work for them that way.

Oh, I didn't realize they'd have to print or scan them... Sad I thought they were already in their computers, so it'd just be a matter of sending an email with some attachments!

I don't want to make them have to do a bunch more work. If it's not likely to be easy for them to do, I won't bother them. Sad

    Thank you both!

  • Ya know, it's worth a call to ask!  You never know.  What's the worst that can happen?  You get a no?

  • If it were me, I'd ask.  Like PP said, the worst they could say is no. Honestly, they'll probably think you're a tad bit loca but who cares?  In fact, I have asked for images at each of my ultrasounds.  When they know you're interested in it as a keepsake their more likely to make the effort to get you a nice photo.  I say go ahead and ask, but be prepared to either go pick them up or to give your email addy as two different options for them.  I'm pretty sure they can easily email them, as my last OB used to always email the images straightaway at the appt.  GL!
