Cameron?

We aren't even pregnant but heading for IVF #2 and I have always loved Cameron. I know it has been used more for girls and that doesn't bother me (ok it does a little) but I am more concerned about how it goes w/DS's name. While I think them both being nice Scottish names is great, if people shorten Cameron I would have Cam and Graeme...worth this risk? Now if I could get get and stay pregnant...a whole other story if it's a girl:)

FWIW: I don't care if you don't like Cameron, just whether it is really lame with Graeme.

How about Seamus if you like Scottish names?  Seamus and Graeme sound better to me.  (Am I mixing up Scottish and Irish?  If so, mea culpa!)

Seamus is a traditionally Irish name...I do like it. I really am not naming a child until I am PG and know the sex but for some reason I was thinking about Cameron today.

I've been thinking about baby names since I was seven years old, I don't think it's ever too early lol

First, good luck with IVF!!  FWIW, I like Cameron a lot, but I do think the nn is a little cutesy with Graeme.

I think they "go" together in that they are both Scottish, but Cameron is much more common than Graeme (esp. with that spelling), so they don't match on that front. I wouldn't worry about having a Cam and a Graeme- they sound so much alike that I doubt you'll actually use them because it will feel weird.

It's populartity is one thing that may keep me from using the name. And, while I wouldn't use Cam, I feel like it'll inevitably be shortened.
