1)Has becoming a mom made you closer to your mom or sister etc? It has definatley made me closer to my mom...Im an only child so no sister here
2)Any Halloween traditions? Spooner farms, Harvest Parties, trick or treating then me and dh get to go see a scary movie in the theater (this year its Saw 5)
3) At what age do you start to discipline? Or How do you keep them off the kitchen table?....we started disciplining fairly early but not spanking yet....when Jacob would pull the cats fur we were sternly say "no no" and "be nice" I'd say around 12 months he'd get a little slap on the hand if he did something, but it was really rare...now that he's almost 2 he gets it more trouble and I'll feel like Im spanking all the time...Steven and I are reading a new parenting book "Sheparding a Childs Heart" ...Im hoping it will help us out, I would like to avoid spanking unless its an extreme circumstance!
4) What do you like to do with DC in the cold? Mall, playdates at friends houses, bake cookies, crafts

6) What is going on this week? JACOB TURNS 2 THIS SUNDAY!!!!! I cant believe it!! We arent going to do a little party until the 2nd of November (Seahawk/football themed) so I've been planning that....finally going back to the gym this week too!

1)Has becoming a mom made you closer to your mom or sister etc? Yes. My sister and I are finally becoming more friends then sisters, my Mom and I have always been close.
2)Any Halloween traditions? Pumpkin patch, making/decorating cookies, t-or-t, decorating the house.
3) At what age do you start to discipline? Or How do you keep them off the kitchen table? Like pp said we did what was age appropriate, showing him how to pet the dog, not pull. I have a hard time keeping Mason from climbing, just putting him back on the floor and saying "feet on the floor", he gets pissed but over and over we do the same thing.
4) What do you like to do with DC in the cold? Little Gym and Stroller Strides will be great getting us out a few days a week. I don't mind walks in the light rain, some times just getting fresh air helps. I love to bake, try new recipes, crafts, finger paint.
5)Any good local activited for toddlers on Halloween? Malls? Parks? Community centers? (To go trick or treating/Harvest Party) I think all the malls have t-or-t things going on. Downtown Edmonds is fun.
6) What is going on this week? Not much, Mason has Dad's cold so we are staying in today. Pumpkin patch tomorrow with our Mom's group.

3) At what age do you start to discipline? Or How do you keep them off the kitchen table? How are they getting on the kitchen table - remove the source. Sometimes your house furniture will not be pretty - take the chairs away.
4) What do you like to do with DC in the cold? I don't - that's why I have a problem living here.
5)Any good local activited for toddlers on Halloween? Malls? Parks? Community centers? (To go trick or treating/Harvest Party) Our comunity shops do a trick or treat walk - it's quite cute and an easy walk. Malls are usually swamped - I went once and won't do it ever again.
6) What is going on this week? Alex has school pictures this week, and pumpkin carving party at school. I'm in a bunch of meetings at work.
7)questions for next week? For girls: What age is okay to start wearing makeup? How about playmakeup: for or against?
Easter 2011

Not exactly closer but I get my Mom a bit more.
2)Any Halloween traditions? No not really. I think we will go Trick or treating around our hood which is about 10 houses and Daycare is having a party this weekend that we are going to.
3) At what age do you start to discipline? Or How do you keep them off the kitchen table? DS is only 5 months so we don't discipline yet. and he is not mobile yet. I would say as soon as he is moving is a good time to start dicipline.
4) What do you like to do with DC in the cold? Ugg we are dealing with this right now. DS has the cold that will not go away. We have been using vicks rub on his chest, inclined crib, humidifier.

6) What is going on this week? Not much just picking counter tops for the new house and lot of decisions need to be made on this one. Getting DS over his cold. Oh and work is way under staffed so I am busy.

1. I think my mom and I got closer while she was going through treatments for breast cancer, but having Emma has definitely given me a different relationship with her. I rely on her for more support than ever.
2. No traditions yet. We didn't celebrate Halloween really, we did harvest festivals at church... We'll see how it goes though.
3. Um... I don't have a good answer for either.
4. It's our first cold with Emma, but I love to go to the library with her. I can't wait to sit in the living room and read books with her on rainy days. I love to walk around the mall and watch people too. :-)
5. I don't know now, since I'm in Oregon, but I know that plenty of churches do harvest parties. And I think that Mariner HS does a trick or treat carnival on Halloween afternoon.
6. We've been travelling with Nathan for the last week. We drive back to Eugene tomorrow. I'm a little bummed to be leaving the Seattle area again. :-( But I'll be glad to get home to my bed!
