well --- I am going to call the ped and go in for a wt check.... because according to my scale... Gabe is chunking in at 18 pounds! (9 weeks was 13pd 14 oz... they were 13 weeks yest.) 3mo today and 18 flipping heavy pounds. our snugride holds to 22... so i guess i am heading out and buying convertables this week or next.
Which seat did you choose? Why? I love the Britax, Tony blanches at speding 300 per seat... is there a less expensive, just as safe seat? Doesnt FP make a "britax" seat?
YIKES
Beth and the chunky monkey... and the slightly smaller 13.5 pd princess
Re: convertable seats....
I love the Britex Marathon that I have, look for them on sale online, with 2 I'm guessing that you will probably pay close to $300 no matter what you get?? I got mine for $219 on sale no tax or shipping online. But I didn't know you could get them through the BX online so if you know anyone in the military that would get them for you go that route I heard someone got them for $175.
Holy smokes Cruz is only 20lbs at 14 months! Start doing some back exercises now ; )
We have the Evenflo Triumph DLX... on consumer reports, it was actually rated higher than the Britax Marathon, and it's about $130 at BRU....
I've heard there's a FP one that's made by Britax too... but I think I've heard people say it's not as cushy and comfortable maybe?
Do you really think he's gained 4 pounds in 4 weeks??? I would bet you still have a few months. But you have to get them sometime... so you might as well look around.
In the end, the best seat is the one that fits best in your car. ANd for us, the Britax was just enough taller than in the rear facing position, it would hit the seat in front of it, so it wouldn't fit as well as the Evenflo. You can take the floor models out of BRU and try them in your car.
I agree w. pp. We also have the evenflo triumph and it fit our car better than the britax seats. We also liked that DC sits down inside it vs. on top of it especially since we transitioned our DD at 4.5 months and our DC at 2.5 months (we moved them both up when they hit 18 lbs because they get to heavy to carry anyway.)
Don't forget when you weigh at home your scale isn't as well calabriated as the pedi's (and home scales can vary by up to 4 lbs+/-) and you usually need to subtract a pound unless you weight DC while completly naked.
Thanks for the info! I am trying to get onto consumer reports... but cant remember our password
... ooops....
I HOPE my scale is off and Gabe didnt gain 4pds in 4 weeks..
but he is heavy enough, that I think i will pop in for a weight check. I think I need to bring Audrey in anyway because she is having more reflux-y type issues... crying and gagging during feeds, after feeds, refusing, etc... seems to hurt esp after a burp...
At this rate, I am going to need to return his 9mo clothes and jammies for 12mo so he has a LITTLE grow into room ha! thats what we get for being big people I guess.....
