It may be a bit late in the game to be asking this but do you mind telling me who your doctor is and/or where will you be delivering?? DH and I just moved down to the area from outside of Philly. I thought I wouldn't mind staying with my doctors up there but the closer I get to my due date, the more worried I get and I'd just rather be close to my doctors/hospital. TIA!!

Re: question for ladies in the Baltimore area..
I go to Annapolis OBGYN and will be delivering at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis. My DH works in the medical field and is familiar with the hospitals in the area, and that was the one he was the most comfortable with.
I like my doctors, but I don't looooove them. It's a group practice, so you're supposed to see all nine docs who deliver. I've seen about five of them, and of that I LOVE three of them and think two are ok.
Previously I went to Chesapeake Women's Care, but I had a terrible experience with a doctor there (ended with me leaving the office in tears) so I wouldn't recommend them at all.
As a sidenote, DH got into a conversation with a neonatal nurse at Hopkins, and she told him they have a serious problem with baby snatching (she said they're taking a lot of measures to prevent/change this) but that freaked me out enough not to want to deliver there!
My BF in Baltimore delievered at Anne Arrundal and another girl here in Baltimore is going to Holy Cross down closer to DC.
I live near Frederick and deliver in Northern Va becasue I do not like the hospitals close to here for maternity.
I am from Bucks Coutny area in Philly.
My BFF used Annapolis OB and they were great!
I was at AA for the delivery and everyday after and it was a wonderful expereince. She was there for 10 days due to issues.
This will probably depend on where you live but I live in the Overlea/Fullerton area and my doctor is located in may's chapel (about 15 minutes) away- her name is Julie Jacobstein and she works out of Sinai Hospital- she also has an office there.
410-601-5530 is the number for her office at Sinai if you are interested.
Thanks ladies! We're in White Marsh so I'll probably look into the practice that delivers at Howard County first then onto Anne Arrundel.
Em, thanks for the tidbit on Hopkins and baby snatching!! I could not even imagine, that is crazy.
Jar, how far do you live from your hospital? Really, we're just moving back from London (I just saw my docs in PA a few times before moving down here) so all this transitioning is a pain! And, p.s., Bucks County is really pretty, I love it there! I didn't grow up far from it, DH and I are both from Chester County.
I'm with Annapolis OB/GYN and am delivering at Anne Arundel Medical Center. I've been really happy with most docs in their practice, though I'm hoping I get my long-time OB/GYN doc to deliver me (long story but he was the doc that actually delivered me for my mom, so it would just be cool to have him deliver DD.)
?
I'm delivering at AAMC for several reasons. ?Firstly, because I work there and know a bunch of the staff. ?Secondly, their rooms are much nicer than some of the surrounding hospitals (we live outside of Bmore and had scoped out other places, too, but settled on trekking to AAMC) AND they do mother/baby rooming-in, so you have your baby with you all the time instead of being in a nursery. ?We both really liked that aspect of their services. ?Plus, free post-natal massage!?
i am delivering at AAMC and go to Chesapeake Women's care. So far, i like most of them. i bet Prichep is the reason that PP got upset- I though he had horrible bedside manner and i know of a couple of other people that he upset.
St. Joe's and GBMC are also highly reputable. My sister went to Capital Women's care at st joes and if i didn't live in AA county I would have gone there.
