DSNG and car seats

I'm getting the DSNG and read that it will work with many different brands of car seats.  Is there one brand that fits the best, or one that you wouldn't recommed getting because it doesn't fit as well?  This is all so overwhelming deciding on what brands and things to get!  Thanks!!

Re: DSNG and car seats

  • I only know how mine fit, and they worked just fine.  I had Graco Snugride 32s, and I would definitely recommend them.  They weren't crazy expensive, they held up great, and could fit into the backseat of an SUV or sedan (I tried both).

  • Several car seats will work, but I recommend the Graco Sungride 30 (the regular one).  My girls were out of infant seats by 8 months (their legs were too long for the DSNG and I moved them to convertible car seats), and they were no where near 30 inches.  The Snugride 30s are cheaper and you don't need to spend the extra money for the 32s.

  • The Chicco Keyfits do not "snap" into the DSNG.  Instead they sort of sit down into the frame.  I find them pretty snug and secure though.  I love my Keyfits and wouldn't have anything else.

Here's a picture of mine set up.  Sorry, can't PIP from this computer right now:

  • I recommend the graco 32 too. I didn't like the snap n go though. Very awkward to maneuver.
  • I have the Baby Trend Flex Loc seats.  They work great with my DSNG, but I will say that mine is an older DNSG - it's actually Swann brand.  I got it used on CL.  The seats don't really snap but rather set in, and there are straps to hold them securely.

  • Also, I recommend buying used from Craigslist or your local twins club if you can.  We bought DSNG and two Graco Snugride 32 for the price of one car seat.  I love my DSNG.  It is hard to drive, but it's so easy to snap in the carseats.
