Two Under 2

What would u do ....

So dh and I were thinking about baby #2 after LO turns 1. Here is the situation; we live in a two bedroom condo so it is already cramped with the three of us. We plan on buying a house within the next two years! I hate living in the bay area so expensive, that is a whole other story! Ha! We have the money for baby number 2 and I just got a new job which requires way less hours! Dh travels a lot for work so I needed a change! My thinking is I don't want to not have a baby bc he it she wouldn't have there own room. Would you have baby number 2 if your house wasn't ideal and your dh traveled a lot? Thanks!!

  • I think it's fine. We have more than 2 bedrooms, but we have the kids share a room because there's only one additional bedroom on the main floor and we don't feel like traveling up/down stairs with young, needy children. It works out fine.

  • We have two bedrooms and a loft. We use the loft as an office. We easily could have converted it to a bedroom, but chose to have our two children share a room instead. We're hoping to move in a year or so. We knew we could handle more than one child in our current home since it's temporary.

  • Yes, you have got to love the bay area :) It's so expensive! I am kind of in the middle, I like the boys not sharing a room because they go down so easy every night and sleep all night long.  I think if they shared a room my oldest wouldn't go down like he does.  But, if you really want a baby maybe you could just use a crib or pack in play in your bedroom until you move or the kids get older?

  • I can't say for the traveling DH part, but we live in a 2-bedroom condo as well and as you can see from my siggy, we decided to make it work for our family of 4. We're also planning on buying a house (which also happen o be crazy expensive in our neighborhood) within the next 2 years or so, but we're prepared to keep the condo longer if we have to.
