My DD hasn't really shown a lot of interest in the potty, and we haven't really pushed it much. She has had a potty for a while now (small one) and sometimes she asks to sit on the big potty, but I think it's more because she likes it because we sit and read books while she's on the potty - I don't think she's sitting there because she has to go. She'll usually say 'poop in potty' after she has a dirty diaper.
Then, yesterday, out of nowhere, she told me she had to poop, so we sat on the potty and holy crap (pun intended - ha) she pooped!
So now I'm faced with 2 questions -
Is it normal to poo on the potty before pee? I feel like I've always heard peeing is the easy part, but she's only done that once before, and she never tells us when she has to pee, only poop.
Also, how do I take advantage of her going yesterday to jump on the 'okay let's potty train wagon'? I don't even know where to start, but since she's showing so much interest I don't want to let this window slip us by. What can I do to keep encouraging her to go? And also to try to get her to pee also?
