I'm a cold turkey kinda potty trainer. As in - remove the diapers, put them in underwear, keep them playing outside to minimize clean ups and just get it done.
If you want to ease her into it pay attention and see if you can figure out a certain time of day that she usually goes - for many that's immediately upon waking, about 20-40 minutes after drinking large quantities and at the beginning of bath - and try to "catch" those natural times in the potty.
For us our first catches came from putting the portable training potty inside the bath tub and having him sit on it as the warm water started running and hit ihis feet. Worked every time and we celebrated, encouraged and built from there.
And... mine are 17 months apart and the oldest didn't seem to notice or care that the baby was in a diaper when he trained at 20 months.
I just focused on "big boy underwear" and made sure to figure out his currency for a rewards system. He'd heard a lot about how he was a "big boy" from his grandma and he liked the concept so I don't think he was interested in being like the baby, KWIM?
Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
