Can you just bring 2? One for you to use as needed, and one for the rest of the fam so that yours doesn't run out? A tub will last forever in our house, too, but the butter I use for cooking, baking, popcorn, whatever, I buy 1 lb of unsalted sticks usually every 2 weeks.
its one of those grocery items that I forget to "restock" when it runs out because it runs out so infrequently....if I don't put it on th elist right away, then I'm in trouble....lol
Forever. We don't put butter on much, usually just toast. My mom puts it on everything though, so she goes through a lot more than we do. How long is your vacation? I would think a normal sized tub would last a week.

We don't use tub spreads. We use real butter and a pound lasts a couple of weeks unless I am baking things. Or if DH is doing the cooking. He puts a ton of butter on everything.

I think you should be fine with one. If there is concern, just tell the other family members to use their own butter! LOL
But seriously, we use MAYBE one stick every 10 days?!?! I would say one a week but that's probably more than we use. Yet I don't think one stick would last two weeks!?
Hhmmm....it's weird to even contemplate this! I don't really have an answer other than we are going on vacation for a week and there will be three families sharing the food - we are buying one box of 4 sticks of butter. And we are having corn on the cob one night so one stick will go to that. So that leaves 3 for the rest of the week for all of us - and I'm guessing we'll have a stick left over.
A small tub of spread lasts a good 3-4 months in my house. I rarely use it- just for garlic bread when I make it from hot dog and hamburger buns when they are leftover.
I like using real butter for most stuff. I keep a pound of sticks in unsalted and salted in my fridge. I got through those in 2 weeks. (I love butter!)
We use real butter. I buy one thing of cultured butter and one lb of unsalted butter at a time. I use 1 lb/week usually. I use butter for basically everything. Sometimes it can last a month, it just really depends on how much I'm cooking and baking.
