It was one thing when she didn't have teeth, but now that she has teeth it is killing me. I really think I might be done soon if it doesn't stop. She bites me three or four times a feeding. The problem is she loves to be startled, she thinks it is hilarious, so even if I make a loud noise and tell her "that hurts mama" she just laughs. I don't know what to do to make her stop. She usually does it waiting for let down. I think before she had teeth, when she bit the nipple stimulation would help speed let down. But, now it makes me not be able to relax Sometimes she does it when the milk slows down, I think again, to try to get a let down.
Re: biting
Have you tried smoshing her face with your boob for a second to get her to release? I've heard that works but I don't react fast enough.
When Em first started biting me with teeth, I put her down and stepped away for 30-60 seconds. Now when she rarely bites, it's not very hard and usually because she's bored so I take her off and tell her 'that hurts, don't bite momma or we're done." If she bites again, I end the session (at least for 5 minutes).
I guess it's a biting =/= nursing lesson.
GL!!
The times I have been able to react fast enough, she didn't react when I smooshed her. Maybe I didn't smoosh her hard enough, but it scares me, like I am smothering her.
