Boys and bugs

DS came up to me yesterday all excited holding something delicately between his fingers.  It was a dead fly!  Yuck!  I guess I get to look forward to him someday bringing home a snake or something just as gross.  DH found a garden snake in our backyard a couple of weeks ago so I imagine it won't be too far off in my future!

Re: Boys and bugs

  • My oldest DD is like that with bugs.  The other day she was running around the front yard trying to catch a grasshopper.  She's a GIRL!!!  Bugs and girls?  Aren't they supposed to scream and run away from them??
    I can't help think its cute....but whatever :-)
  • Ha! That is funny.

We have a cow pasture a ways behind our house, but it attracts flies (especially when the weather keeps changing from cold to warm and back again). Anyway, we get a few flies in our house every day it seems, so it's a regular occurance to smoosh them with toilet paper or kleenux. When ds is around and we do this, he always has to see the smooshed fly and say/wave hi to it. It's hilarious!

  • Will adores bugs, any shape or size.  He loves them.  It's hilarious.  He'll chase them around "hi bug!  Hi!"

  • Uh, my daughter loves bugs, too.  She especially loves smashing them.  Such a little lady, she is.
