Re: Sibley Experience

  • I had a great experience at Sibley- I was there once for pre-term labor and then again for the real thing and both times the nurses were so great. I really have nothing negative to say about the whole experience. Let me know if you have any questions.

Great experience. Excellent L & D nurses, OK recovery nurses. We also took the one day intensive course to accomodate our schedules. I also took their breastfeeding course which I enjoyed, but we a pretty brief overview. I turned down the Baby Care class (or some name like that) because I work with babies all the time, but I have heard that this is a good one for first time dads.

  • I did not take any childbirth/childcare classes but Sibley did offer BFing class, baby care class and some other options during my hospital stay that were good and free.

  • Sibley is awesome, I delivered there last December.  The staff was great and the environment was calm.  It is also worth getting a private room for the extra $200 a night (that insurance doesn't cover).  That way your hubby can stay in the room with you overnight.  I also did the one day intensive course which was sort of helpful but they also focused a lot of the time on what to do when you are delivering naturally (without epidural).   It was a long day so if you take the class be prepared (the teacher was very nice and knowledgable).
