Nap issues

We switched DD to a big girl bed about 4 weeks ago. She was climbing out of her crib and we'll need the crib for DD2. She has been doing great at night time and at first also for naps. Now she gets out of bed and plays for all her naps. No matter how often we bring her back to bed, she'll get out again and play. If we try to keep her in bed, she'll just play there. Today we did that for 2 hours and she wouldn't go to sleep, so I finally put her in the stroller where she was out like a light in literally one minute and napped for over an hour. Any suggestions? She clearly still needs the nap.

Honestly, my DD has ALWAYS had nap issues, from falling to sleep to napping longer than 30 min. I just resigned myself to having to help her along. We made naps special, put her in our bed, with only a book or two, and I lay down with her until she crashes.

 

It takes time, but she is only going to be napping g for another year at best. Why fight that. I save the arguments for nighttime.
