no period, really light brown spotting and negative test

Hey everyone,

So my husband and I have been TTC for six months now. I have extremely regular periods on a 30 day cycle. This month, I began having what felt like PMS symptoms although my cramping was milder about a week before my expected period. On day 30 there was no sign of my period. I am now on day 34 and still no period. I have had very light brown spotting (about a dime size) once a day for the last few days. It is usually present when I wipe. I have persistent mild cramps and lower back pain, but absolutely no blood! I have taken two negative pregnancy tests on day 33 and 34. Has anyone experienced similar symptoms? I am confused by the brown spotting and wondering if I am indeed pregnant!!! :)

    It is totally normal to have an off cycle here and there.  Take a text once/week until you hit CD 60, get your period, or get a + HPT.

    In the mean time, read the newbie link and sign up for Fertility Friend--it is free and if nothing else reading the tutorials is very very helpful

    Do you temp and chart your CF? 

     Some people spot at ovulation but there could be many reasons for spotting (irritated cervix from sex, hormone fluctuations, etc).  It's possible that you're having a longer than normal cycle because of a delayed ovulation this month.

    I always have brown spotting before I start my period.  It is not totally unusual.  The previous posters had good advice.

    that happened to me before i got my bfp. I had funky brown spotting and a BFN pregnancy test. 4 days later still no period and a bfp!! I hope you get a bfp!

    Married 11/27/09 and TTC right away
    Dx: Complete septate uterus with cervical duplication, endometrial polyps, PCOS, endometriosis, hypo thyroid, luteal phase defect
    4 uterus surgeries to correct my complete septum and to remove polyps and 2 years of seeing the RE, medicated cycles and IUIs
    Baby 1 and 2: BFP 3/3/11 with 2 babies EDD 11/1/11, M/C 4/6/11
    Baby #3: 8/11 pregnant EDD 4/27/11 and m/c:(
    Baby #4: 10/12/11 BFP! EDD 6/16/12m/c 10/26/11
    Baby #5: 3/13/12 BFP! EDD 11/25/12 ANOTHER m/c :(

    Baby #6: 2/14/13- BFP! EDD 10/24/13, CP 2/19/13
    Baby #7: 3/15/13- BFP! EDD 11/27/13, another CP
    Baby #8.  BFP 5/19/13 EDD 1/22/14. 8 was not our lucky number

    4th septum resection on 5/31/13.
    Baby #9: 6/29/13 BFP. C section scheduled for March 5th!

    My miracle baby was born March 5 at 9:33am. He was 8 lbs 12.5 oz and 21.25 inches long!

    That happened to me about 3 weeks ago.  I had about 4 days of brown spotting.  I think I had an anovulatory cycle and it was my "period".  I hope that's not the case for you.
