I recently lost my grandfather, who I was closer to than another other person in my life. We shared a very special bond and I really want to honor him somehow in my baby's name. His name was Carl.
Also, my father's name is Curtis, my other grandfather is Cyril and both my DH's grandfathers' names were Chesly.
I really think I want to give my baby the middle name Cee, since one grandpa and all great-grandpas had names that began with "C". Even if it's a little girl I want to do this. Does this seem overly strange to anyone? I really want to honor my grandpa that has passed, but thought it would be even more meaningful to get all the others in there at the same time. I know if it were me, I'd be honored to have such a meaningful middle name. The only person not covered in this is DH's father, but he already has a grandson with his name as a middle name, so I feel I'm safe.
Thoughts?
Oh, and we're thinking Ryder for a boy. So Ryder Cee (last name has one syllable starting with L)
And even though we STRUGGLED looking for a little girl's name, the only one that we have found so far that excited both of us is Piper. So, Piper Cee L....
Re: Thoughts on a meaningful middle name?
I think it's great! I'm all for meaningful names, especially middle names. My middle name is Gene, after my dad and I love it.
Our middle name choices include Gene, Vincent (my DH middle name & FIL name) and Ruby (my gma's name)
Go for it
