Babies: 6 - 9 Months

What does your 6 month old wear to sleep?

Also, is LO rolling, and does LO have anything else in the bed? A blanket? A lovie? What are you comfortable with?

Re: What does your 6 month old wear to sleep?

  • Just a onsie or light pjs right now.  I might add some blankets when it gets cold outside!

  • DD wears a onesie only. We keep the A/C set to 75 degrees 24/7. We put her down on her back, but she almost immediately rolls onto her belly and stays there for the night. Occasionally she'll sleep on her side. In the crib with her: paci, gentle giraffe sound machine, a lovey, and *gasp* bumpers. She doesn't really cuddle with the lovey. I just give it to her so that when we travel we can bring it along and she'll have something familiar.

  • He wears footed sleepers, either cotton or terry, and a blanket. I usually put a light blanket on him when he goes to bed, and then switch it to a medium weight blanket before I go to bed because the temp has dropped.  He does have a lovey (one of those tiny square blankets with the animal head in the middle) that I will sometimes put near the side for him to reach for, but I often leave it where he can't even see it or get it because he'll wake up, grab it, suck on it, and wake himself completely and make a big mess in the process.

He sleeps on his tummy and knows how to roll to his back but usually doesn't except for sometimes once he's wide awake in the morning and playing.

We're going to be putting our bumpers back in when we get a chance. He scootches upward and ends up hitting the top of his head against the slats and cries.

  • It's 100 degrees here and we don't use the air conditioner so right now she sleeps in her diapers.  That's it.  When it's cooler like 80's we put a onesie on her otherwise footed pajamas.  Nothing in her crib but a light blanket at her feet....

Short-sleeved onesie and a cotton sleep sack.  If it's a cool night, I'll put DD in a cotton sleeper and the sleep sack.  Her Wubbanub is usually in the crib with her, and that's it.  I put her to bed on her back, but she rolls onto her tummy almost immediately 99% of the time.  I've considered getting the breathable bumpers to put on the crib, since she's managed to stick her hands and feet in between the rails a couple times, though that was when she was awake and playing, not during the night.

  • My son wears the footed sleepers. It's warm here but we keep a fan on in all the bedrooms to keep a nice temp and to keep the air moving.

He doesn't have anything in the crib at the moment, but we're trying to get him to associate one teddy bear with sleep time so some days he'll have a bear.

We use the breathable bumpers. He was getting his feet stuck in between the rails, but he'll squish his face up against it when he sleeps on his belly so I wanted the mesh ones and not the big fluffy decorative ones. It was definitely a good buy.

  • she usually wears a onsie, or foot pjs.  she's been sleeping on her side lately, sometimes rolls onto her stomache too.  she cuddles with her seahorse and it plays music while she falls asleep.  i also put a light blanket over her, as it's never warm enough up here.  she also has a small lovie (rattle kitty in a small blanket from carters) that i let her cuddle with too if she wants it.  and of course a pacifier, she loves them!
  • We have central air and DH likes to keep it on the cool side, so usually we put LO in a footed sleeper or a long sleeve onesie with a blanket tucked around him.

We have the bumpers, his lullaby giraffe, and a blanket.

Yes, he is rolling. I lay him down on his back and he rolls right over onto his side and doesn't move until he wakes up in the morning for a bottle.

  • We keep our place cool at night (72) so he wears footie pjs and a sleep sack.

DS doesn't really roll over in the crib, but he gets on his side all the time and scoots around.  He has a small monkey lovie and for naps he gets a light blanket instead of the sleep sack.

  • It's very hot here 90s and 100s. Ac is set to 75 but it still feels warm when she goes to bed then gets cooler. We do short sleeved onesie and sleep sack. She gets her paci only and we have a breathable bumper. She rolls all over the place. Last night I left her legs out if the sleep sack and she slept a little better.

  • Just regular sleep and plays. She has never has anything in her bed, and I'm not going to add it if she doesn't need it.

  • DD sleeps in a short sleeve onesie right now. Even with the a/c on her room gets pretty hot since it's upstairs. She doesn't have a blanket since it's so warm, but she does still have bumpers in her crib. She rolls, but usually once she rolls once and ends up on her tummy that's where she stay for the night. She's a heavy sleeper and she doesn't move around a lot.

  • It's been in the 80s here and we don't have air-conditioning in his room so he sleeps in a diaper. We have an Aden & Anais blanket over him and a fan on in the room.

  • DS wears whatever he was wearing that day or if I give him a bath before bed it's either a onesie or a sleep outfit. He has small toys and a light blanket but nothing else in his crib since he's rolling and starting to crawl

  • He still wears gowns.  They are the perfect about of fabric for the temperature in his room.  He gets too hot in footie pjs and would be chilly in just a onesie.  There's nothing in his crib except a stuffed animal.  I'd be okay with him having a lovey or something, but since he doesn't need it, I don't bother.

  • She wears a short sleeved onesie.  We keep it pretty cool because she still sleeps swaddled at night.  We double swaddle her with a receiving blanket and a swaddle blanket.  She can roll but she never does at night when she's fully swaddled.  The only thing in the crib with her is her paci.

During the day she sleeps she sleeps with her arms out and a little stuffed animal to hold on to so she doesn't pull her paci out of her mouth.

  • She wears a sleep sack.  A number of manufacturers make them.  Swaddleme makes them, Aden+Anais makes them.  If you are worried about summer heat Aden makes a great "summer" light muslin one with short sleeves.  My LO rolls around and often find her "upside down" in the morning.  the sleep sack is great and helps prevent SIDS.
