Snacks - what do you give?

Pedi just changed boys feeding schedule to 3 meals/day with 2 snacks.  I had already introduced yogurt as a snack a couple of wks ago... but what are other snacks you give your LOs?  Don't want to bore them with 2 yogurts/day, just want to add some variety.

They are now getting a hang of Cheerios and Puffs, but is that a snack on its own?  I've been giving them those after their yogurt.  Oh, and they aren't a huge fan of cheese... is that normal at the beginning?

Thanks

  • You could always give apple sauce or any other fruit your kids like. Steamed carrots are good as well. Puffs and cheerios are good so they don't get too bored with one or two options. I made hummus for my son and he loved it at that age. We would serve it with unsalted oyster crackers.

  • we give really anything that they eat, just in smaller portions for snacks. Fruit, veggies, half a waffle. We do a lot of cheerios, but I usually pair it with something else.

  • Sometimes I give my girls the mini frozen pancakes.. they also love the Trader Joe Corn Puffs, esp the sour cream and onion flavor!  I try to give them some cut up fruit (peaches, bananas, etc), fruit bars, yogurt, veggies, etc.
