I'm sorry I just have to vent and I figured here was a good place bc I know you guys understand. My LO is now 9 1/2 mos old and we have been dealing with food allergies (milk, soy, now oat & possibly apricots and apples) and severe eczema since he was 3 mos old. I was going to a dermotologist who was getting it under control for the most part. We were also using Aveeno Eczema cream which is where his oat allergy came from. This is supposedly rare that this happens. But, anyway, we were told to try this other dermotologist who works more with kids than the other one. So, we did. He saidhow great he looks and how what we were doing is really working but he wanted us to add an oil called Dermasmooth FS oil to one of the things we were using. Here's the kicker ~ it contains peanut oil. Now, why would you give someone a medication with peanut oil who suffers from multiple food allergies already. He said just try a little to see how he reacts. Well, this didn't sit well with me so, I called our allergist and he said "NO WAY" That there are too many other great products out there that he should not prescribe someone with multiple food allergies something that contains peanuts. I am fuming!!!! But, I am glad I went with my gutt and didn't do it. These dr's should know better. Uggggg!!!! Thanks for listening to my rant!!!

Re: Vent session
That is really frustrating.
I hope you are able to find something that works very quickly.
On a sidenote, peanut oil is not usually something that someone with a peanut allergy needs to avoid. In order to make the oil, it is heated to such a high temperature that it kills the allergen. That being said, I still wouldn't use it on my peanut allergic kid! Especially not when there are other options available!

scary and dangerous.
i never knew it can be safe b/c of the way it's processed, but like PP said -definitely should still be avoided.
I would be frustrated also!
super frustrating!
we use coconut oil and olive oil in our house (buy the light version of olive oil or the kiddos smell like pasta
