I did the transition at 4 months. We had 2 really rough nights. Then it got better and better. The key it to stick with the crib no matter what. A little fussing it ok too. Baby has to know this is where she/he has to sleep now. Then, LO will be so comfy in the crib
We helped ease the transition by creating a "nest" in the crib using a crib wedge and rolled up towels in a U-shape under the crib sheet. It kind of mimicked the RnP. Then after a couple weeks we took it out (we transitioned at about 4 months).
DD slept in the rock n play until about 5ish months. transition was so much easier than i expected. we inclined the mattress a little to start and put rolled up receiving blankets on her sides under the sheet ... but within a week or two we lowered it and took out the receiving blankets. she never made a peep about the switch.
I'm in the middle of the transition. It's been night four and it still sucks - he's up every two hours. But to be honest, I think it's more the unswaddling that's keeping him up, although he moves around SO much in the crib, he's always upside down and at an opposite end when I go in there. I tried making a nest but he literally rolled over it!

Exactly this.

I transitioned shortly after four months. We never swaddled, either in the RnP or the crib. Didn't have to do anything special either...no propping, etc. It was a breeze, and I wish I had done it a little sooner because she got into a much better night routine and started going to bed almost two hours earlier. We now only use the RnP while I'm in the shower, or as a place to put her while we are getting ready.
No. We transitioned him into his crib at 16 weeks. At 12 weeks, we moved his RnP into his room. He slept there for naps and bedtime. At 16 weeks, I started him napping in his crib, with the intention of bedtime still in his RnP. He did so well that first day at naps, we cut the RnP cold turkey. He did great! (We did use a wedge underneath one part of the mattress to help with his reflux, but removed that within 2 weeks)
We still use his RnP when my ILs watch him in the evening one night a week. We'll be bringing our PNP with us soon since he's reaching the weight limit.

We did it around 5 months, and it was a breeze. She slept better and for longer stretches. I think she was getting a little uncomfortable and cramped in there. We didn't have to swaddle or anything, but she did become a tummy sleeper as soon as we transitioned.

The transition was very easy for us. Jay like sleeping in his crib more because he was able to sleep on his side and then eventually his stomach once he started rolling on to it more. He also slept better in his crib.
I don't remember when we transitioned DD, but I'm going to guess 4-5 months. I started putting her in the crib for naps, and in the RnP at night. I had moved her to the crib at night and then she was congested, so I moved her back to the RnP. About a week later, we went back to the crib for naps and night. She did great, and we never swaddled her. Good luck!
We had no trouble transitioning at 4.5 months although he was sleeping on his tummy at that point (he would roll to that position) so I think that's why we had no problem.

Re: previous or current rock and play users
no, we did it around 8 weeks and she did ok. We swaddled her for a while, so I think that helped.
Good Luck
Ditto. We didn't swaddle in the RnP but we have to in the crib. No problems transitioning though.
