OT-Carpets (not baby related)

I have to replace the carpet on the stairs in the hallway of our two family home. ?This area will get a lot of traffic so I want something durable that won't stain that much. ?Does anyone have any suggestions on what kind of carpet and a good company to install it?

We have used National Floors Direct in our condo and in our home.  They were great to work with.  For a high traffic area, I would use burber (sp?).  It wears well.  GL
