Vent

Dear Iterim Director:

I do not know you very well and you barely know my name. When I approached you last week (with my husband in tow) you were quick to give me answers and get me out the door. Last week it was about my son getting in the car and screaming when I picked him up. Only to look at the sheets and the last time he ate anything was at 2:00pm. My son eats almost every 3 hours.  It is a small portion but that is his schedule.  I get that the kids in his class want his food, but you have a kid sitting in a daycare providers lap SCREAMING and you wont feed him when I provide you food? Not ok with me at all.  Thank you for adding a snack to the late evening for all the children.  The parents have been much happier in our group.

Today though was a complete waste of my breath.  I came in as I do every.single.day and pulled out my breakfast for my son.  Fruit and blueberry pancakes that I make.  You about died.  You informed me that I cannot bring in outside food.  Seriously? You only provide my child with sugary cereal. I want my son to eat healthier.  I am putting my best foot forward in changing the way he eats.  MY BEST.  In telling you that I dont want cereal you have given me no other options and I have made my own breakfast.  Three directors prior to you have not had one problem with this! And today, you have an issue.  You informed me to call the corporate office and speak with the owner. I called at 8:15am this morning and she never returned my call.  In fact she did exactly what I thought she would do, she called you and told you to call me.  And then you tried to play an illness (cancer) card on me.  I am very sympathetic to people that have cancer, in fact my own adminitrative assistant is out with cancer related issues, but do not tell me to call and talk to her, when you knew that she was going to talk to you to relay information back to me.  You told me when I left this morning that your card had the corporate number on it and that you worked there.  Why wouldn't you just say you would call and speak with her and get back with me this afternoon? Now it appears that parents concerns will not be answered by the corporate office.

My son will NOT eat cereal every morning for breakfast.  Plain and simple.  If I need to do something different for my son then I will start researching those options immediately to make those changes.  He is a thriving 13 month old little boy and I want him to make healthy decisions as he grows and those decisions come with the food choices that I currently make for him.

Thanks

A Concerned Mom

Am I nuts? I tried and followed her rules, but I feel like they are pushing sugar and processed carbs on me because it is the cheap option to take.  I asked teh previous directors and noone had an issue. Why have me fill out paperwork and you still do what you want? I am frustrated, hence the previous post.

If you made it this far, thanks!

Re: Vent

  • Your child is 13mo and you've already on the 4th director of the daycare??? Run like hell!

Honestly I wouldn't even bother, but the letter sounds fine.  I would just find a new place, give notice, and mail the letter to director and corporate on your way out the door the last day.
