Onesie exchange?

So I saw on the March board something that peaked my interest, and wanted to see if you ladies would be on board with the idea as well.

They're talking about doing a Secret Santa (or at least that's what the post title said). Out of respect for everyone and their religious or spiritual beliefs, I think a onesie exchange would be fun!

So what would happen is we would collect all of those who are interested, "match" people randomly, and then have the onesies sent by a certain time. We could do it by country (so US sends to US, Canada to Canada, etc.) or we could just do all randoms. This should be a relatively cheap thing to do, because you can find onesies don't cost a lot and shipping shouldn't be much either.

Thoughts? If this flies, I don't mind being the one to organize it... but if you sign up you HAVE to participate!

I would love to do this!! I participated in secret santa's on TK for the past few years, and it has always been a ton of fun. If I remember correctly, we used Elfster--it's a website that does the automatic pairing for you!

i think we could do it--given we use elfster so that privacy is #1. also, i think we should wait a little..maybe till mid 2nd trimester or early 3rd.....TBH, most people drop off the boards when the excitement runs down. (experience from TK, TN).

Agreed with all of this... I've used Elfster before for exchanges and it works wonderfully!

Besides, if we do early third, it'll be November or so -- and finding winter-themed (for February babies!) onesies might be a lot easier.

I definitely already thought about waiting a bit - so for those of us who are finding out we'll know.

I will also use elfster for the privacy concerns. I'll probably get it going in October full swing and have a date for things to be mailed by sometime in November.

That sounds like a really cool idea! I like it! I think that waiting awhile, like 3rd trimester would be better, just because then it will be closer and such and most of us don't know what we are having yet! Also, it would be nice to have a "timeline" of some sort, where we decide we are sending 1 onesie a week for a month? Or something like that?

Yeah, we're definitely going to wait for a bit, so no worries - I just wanted to see if there was any interest! I haven't really hashed out the details, but I thought it would be good to just plan on one so that it isn't too much of a financial burdon.

I don't mind shipping internationally, either. Note for any USians shipping to Canada, though -- use the USPS!! It's cheaper for you and they don't charge the Canadians all kinds of stupid customs nonsense the same way FedEx and UPS do (even on gifts!!).

(I ship things to my BFF in Ottawa a lot. So international mail is no stranger to me!)

I think that October/November would be great ... or even December, for the holidays?
