Is pottery barn kids stuff pretty decent?

I see that I can finally shop there online (the now ship to canada.....), so I was kind of wondering about the quality.   I want to get the kids' stockings for Christmas  from there......

Also - what are the anywhere chairs and beanbags like?

  • I'm wondering about this too. I was on the site yesterday and was very excited to see they finally ship to Canada = )

  • Everything I have ever bought from PBK, I have loved!! The quality is great, and if it's not to your standards, their customer service is awesome. They have replaced/refunded a couple things I was picky about (monogramming)...
  • Yes.  It's expensive, but I think it's worth it (especially when it comes to their furniture).  Everything is so well-made and made to last!

  • We have a chair for Lo. She loves it. She also eats her cookies on it! It's holding up well so far. I'm impressed.

  • I don't buy from them as much as I used to because now that I have two LO's I can't spend as much money on any one item like I used to because I need two of everything, but I used to buy a lot from them and have never been disappointed. My son's bedding is from there, as well as all of his sheets, room decorations, area rug, lamp, etc and everything is very well made.

  • I used to work at PBK years ago and always loved their stuff.  I do think the quality is better but for some items like furniture, I can't see myself ever paying that amount of money.  To give you an idea, as an employee I received a 40% discount off of merchandise.  It's a great benefit but I can guarantee you that they aren't losing money on employees so it gives you an idea of how much they add to the cost.

I think the anywhere chairs and beanbags are good quality, but you also have to assess how long you'll have them and how long they'll stay looking nice.  My parents bought my dd a beanbag chair from Target (similar to PBKs) and it's kept up pretty well so I'm not sure if I'd spend $100 on an anywhere chair.  On the other hand, I'd definitely buy towels from PBK because they last quite a while.  It just depends on what you buy.

Not only that but you get the same discount at Pottery Barn AND Williams Sonoma!  That's how I got my awesome Kitchen Aid mixer :)  It really is a great place to work.  I loved it.

  • It's good quality stuff.  My oldest has a bean bag, the anywhere chair, first table and chair set and the kitchen from PBK.  It has all held up very, very well for almost two years that we have had it.  I'm about to get the little table/chair set out again for the twins.

I just ordered two more anywhere chairs for the babies' birthday because they are all over Emerson's.  Go ahead and purchase the bigger chairs rather than the smaller ones (first anywhere chairs) so your kids can get the most use out of them they possibly can.

  • We love Pottery Barn- pretty much everything in our house is from there. The anywhere chairs are very nice and sturdy, DD is all over hers and it still looks brand new. Same with the Xmas stockings and easter baskets. I just ordered the Halloween trick or treat pail so hopefully its good quality as well.

Pottery Barn Kids quality is very good. My LO has the anywhere chair, all of her nursery bedding, crib, blankets, and toys from there. My DD loves to sit in the anywhere chair. They have excellent customer service too!!!
