I know everyone is different and some people get it on the first try. I was wondering how many miscarriages some have had before they have had a succesful one? I have had three. My doctor started with the first
step of blood work and did an internal u/s at a different appt to see if I check out ok, and I did. He said he thought it was bad luck. Not to comforting.
Re: Miscarriage
By blood work, I assume you mean repeat loss testing? Did he mention an SHG or HSG? Those tests look for growths (fibroids, polyps, etc) and other uterine abnormalities. You might want to look into that as well.
I am so sorry for your losses - my girlfriend had 7 or so early losses, it was found she was a carrier of the MTHFR genetic abnormality and once she started Heparin early in her next pregnancy she was able to carrie to term. She also had some mild endo removed via lap.
Just some other avenues you might want to persue.
DS born via unplanned C-section at 40w6d
BFP - Ended in m/c - 6/15/10
BFP - Ended in m/c - 1/2/11
BFP! - 4/13/11 - grow baby grow!!
I've been pregnant 9 times, 6 were losses. 2 of those losses were ectopic, and the second ectopic destroyed the tube on that side *and* the ovary. My first pregnancy (and it was the very first one) went to term, but I had pre-E. The second and third successful pregnancies were both over-40, and much, much easier on my body.
No one ever found a reason for the losses (other than the ectopics) so I guess those were just bad luck.
I wish you all the good luck possible from here on out!
I had 3 1st tri losses before RPL testing revealed I had MTHFR. I was started on B6, B12 & folate supplements along w/baby aspirin & had a successful 4th pregnancy w/my son.
BTW - My OB started me on the above regimen even before my lab results came back, saying it wouldn't hurt & might help. You might want to ask your Dr. about this as well. GL!
they never made it past about 4 weeks or so.
