Success after IF

what size shoe does/did your 18 month old wear?

And how quickly do toddlers grow out of shoes?  (Yes, I know answers may vary but I am wondering what it was like for you!)

The girls are in size 6 with a little room to grow, and I am wondering what they'll be come Halloween (so, 3 months from now).  Yes, I am already planning their costumes.  And bonus if whatever fits them for Halloween still fits them for Christmas since I need to get black mary janes!  I am sure I won't get that lucky. ;)

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

  • We are at 20 months, and we just moved up from a 5...like she just wore her brand new white sandals (size 6) for the first time today.

A 5 1/2 fits perfectly, 6 is a tad bit big, but she is doing well in them.

  • Well my 2 year old is still in sixes.  But for Halloween I'd buy a 7.

  • We're also in a 6, a wide wide wide 6.  I'm hoping she'll be just moving into a 7 in mid-September so I can buy her shoes for the jewish holidays at the end of the month and still have them fit for Chanukah and her birthday in December.
  • Shoes are one thing I am too afraid to buy in advance.  Garrison's feet grew so strangely.  She had the tiniest feet for the longest time, I actually think she wore a size 5 at 18 months. Now she is in a 7 and I'm not sure she will make it out of the warm months without moving up (and don't get me started on the pi$$ poor selection of half sizes for children's shoes).

  • Ana is in size 6 at 19mos. Almost ready to move up a size.

AMEN!  It drives me batty...what is so flipping wrong with half sizes?  I NEED half sizes in my life...and on my child's feet!

  • I am afraid to buy anything ahead now.  I never get it right!  Ugh.

My girls have big feet, though, so I am guessing 7s are what we'll need.  I hope they don't end up in (adult) size 12s like my mom.  Tongue Tied

  • Jordana is a little over 2.5 years old and it in size 5!!! She has the smallest feet! Preston was wearing size 6 when they turned 2 in November and he is now is 9!

Brady is 20 months old and is size 4! Just now a size 4!

  • Jacob's feet grew a size every season.  So, if he was in a 6 in the summer, he would definitely be in a 7 for the fall.  Not sure about the winter too.  Maybe if you got a 7.5?

  • My LO was in 5.5 at 18 months. He's in 6s now.

I'm not pleased with the small selection of wides available, I can't imagine double wides.

Henry was in a size 6.5 at 18 months and I think we're about ready to move up a size now, so probably 7.5.

Yeah, it sucks.  Our choices are very, very limited and I can't take advantage of any of the cute zulily/totsy/etc.. shoes because they are never wide.  I keep hoping her feet will get narrower.  It's a crapshoot whether or not it will happen.

  • It seems there is no rhyme or reason to shoe size.  Lilah is off the charts for height, but it seems like she is in a size of shoe for 6 months, maybe more.

Amelia is still in a size 3 at 13 months.

So moral.. I wouldn't buy just yet.

  • My DS moved up to a size 7 wide at 18 months, but he has monster feet!  My DS's feet were a size 5 wide at 13 months, the first time we ever had him sized.  He's moved up 2 sizes since then.  I'd say you'd be fine with a 6 1/2 or 7 at the max for Halloween.  I'd get 7 just so, like you said, they still likely to fit at Christmas time too!

  • Matt was in a 7 at 18 months. He actually stayed in that size for almost 6 months! He is just moving up to 8's right now.

  • I think he was a size 7 at 18 months. When we picked him up some new shoes recently (around 23-24 months) he was measuring as a 7.5 on the store thing but all the shoes that fit him best were 8s so that's what he wears now.

  • I really hope DS feet don't grow like crazy in the next 4 months.  He is wearing 3 or 4's right now but I just had to buy him a size 5 crocs and a size 6 sandal for december for our vacation since I will not get summer clothing/shoes then.

I'm thinking the 6's might be a little big but hopefully the 5's fit.

  • Holy cow, I guess DD really does have small feet. I'm just now buying her size 4's for the fall, most of her shoes are still a 3. And she'll be 2 in Sept.

  • I honestly do not remember what size R was wearing at 18 months.  It seems like she was wearing a size 6 for a pretty long time.  I noticed just after her 2nd birthday that some of the size 6 shoes were small oh her.  I took her to the outlet mall to have her feet measured.  They said she is a 6 1/2.  I purchased some 6 1/2 shoes which seem a tiny bit big now (at 25 months) and some size 7 shoes which are just ginormous on her.  I am thinking she might wear the 7s in the Fall.
