too big for NB, too small for everything else - help!

DD was just under 7lbs at birth and was up to 8 over a week ago. She's grown out of Lil Joeys, BG XS, KL0, and orange GMD prefolds, but all my Small or OS stuff is too big for her - except the two size 1 Thirsties fitteds I have (I wish I had more!)

I've been using a prefold trifolded in a cover for now, but she's a heavy wetter. I don't mind putting the bigger diapers on her overnight, but they're really ridiculous and cumbersome for during the day. I have a few yellow GMD prefolds and some Osocozy small PF, but they even seem a bit too big and bulky right now.

Did anyone else have their baby go through this? How long 'till the other stuff starts to fit better? Any suggestions to hold us over? Should I splurge and buy a bunch of Thirsties fitteds or will she grow out of those quickly, too?

I'm confused - LO is just around 9 pounds now and still fits in all her NB dipes - we do the angel wing with her orange edge GMD prefolds.  They don't overlap a ton, but they fit.  The KLOs fit on the high rise on nearly the inside snap (but LO is only 22 1/2 inches, maybe she's taller/thinner than your LO??)

BG XS are a little snug at this point, but she fits in the Smalls - do you have any of those?  Also - DD makes a dynky diaper that fits up to 20lbs, a lot of companies are making them that fit in between.

It sounds like your LO is taller/thinner than my DD.  She was only 20" a week ago. Maybe my DD has a weird "waist" to thigh ratio?

I guess I should clarify - the BG XS do still "fit", but she saturates them quickly every time. The BG Smalls are fitting okay - she did leak through one the other night though around the  back. I only have a few of them for now.

DS is a chubby 10 lbs and our thirsties size 1 fit him best with room to grow.

my best bottoms started fitting DS the same time his thirsties duo size 1 did.

Maybe you just think they are too small but really you are getting a good fit?

My LO was born nearly 9lbs and was 21inches long. While I didn't like KLO's he could have fit into them for at least 4 weeks. And we're still using the orange edged on occasion (tri-folded of course). I don't think we switched to yellow angel folds until he was at least 4 weeks.

We're still in size 1 Thirsties covers and just gave up size 1 Thirsties pocket today at nearly 15lbs.

Unless you are solidly anti-microfiber, you could get a package (or two) of the miscrofiber  cloths (in the automotive department in Walmart). I think they were $5.00 for 8 of them, but they might have gone up. You can trifold a cloth and lay it between the diaper and the cover. This works really well for us. It's pretty trim and holds a lot.

my LO is skinny. but we are still using the KL0's with thirsties duo wraps without issue. he is just starting to fit in some OS/AIOs. he was 10lbs 9 oz and 23 1/2 inches around 3 months old.
