I think we got the worst case manager. She mails me the ASQ so that we can have our 6 month IFSP review.
She shows up and searches through everything she has and has "forgottten" the paperwork. She supposedly has been doing HMG for 20 years. She asks me like 3 questions and says she'll just fill it in when she gets to the office.
I get a phone call later asking me like 50 more questions, and then asks me what the therapist meant in her recommendation of PT frequency and if it was just a typo. Then proceeds to ask me who DS's specialists are and starts naming doctors we've never seen.
So then she asks me who his pulmonologist is and I said that we don't see one. She's like "well then what's it called?" I had no idea what she was talking about and she finally says (after a long awkward silence) "you know, the one who prescribes AFO's?" I answered "physiatrist" and she says "yeah , that one. How do you spell it?" Edit for clarification: She wanted to know how to spell physiatrist, not the doctor's name.
I understand that people have bad days, but this is how she is with EVERYTHING. Between working and trying to squeeze all of DS's therapy and other stuff in I didn't need to spend an hour with her at our home answering 3 questions and then another hour on the phone trying to help her spell something.
Re: Help Me Grow vent
DUDE. You are so not alone in this vent. Ours sucks lemons too.
We had a speech eval 31 days ago. I called yesterday to tell her I hadn't heard about scheduling services yet and she says...."Ohhh. I haven't gotten the SLP's report yet(from 30 days ago!). It's too late today to do anything(3:30) and I am going on vacation tomorrow. So you'l have to wait until Monday." This is not the first time I have had to remind her about stuff.
Grrrr. I so wanted to ask for a supervisor. The word COORDINATOR is in you damn title lady. Get your sh!t together and coordinate for pete's sake. I will be on her AZZ first thing Monday. I am not playing by the rules anymore. It is time to "get squeaky".
We should have a SP Vent Day too.....I am feeling much better.
