For those of you with the baby jogger city select when did you start using the regular seats and not the car seats. I am going to the shore with my 8 week old boys this upcoming week and wanted to see if I could use the seats instead of the car seat carriers to get to the beach since they recline flat, but wanted to see what you guys have done.

We just started using the seats constantly because we ditched the infant seats.  We started using the seats when they were around 3 months old and had good head control for walks.  Other than that we just used the car seat attachments for errands.  If you are going to be at the beach all day you can definitely recline the seats all the way and use them.

I would say you should not use them until 4 or 5 months.

you can use any seat the reclines flat from day 1 - assuming you are not running and going over huge bumps, etc

I'd use the regular seats at the beach - more airy, etc.  We didn't have the select when my boys were infants- but had the Contours, which is similar, and used the regular seats right away - they loved them.  We interchanged them with the infant seats depending on what we were doing - so i'd do the same with the Select.

It says 6 months... 

That said I had a whole huge issue with the straps on my second seat.  Apparently they made them 2 different ways.  So I went to put a baby in it (with one baby already in the front seat) and the strap configuration was totally different!!  There was NO way you could make it small enough for a 6 mo. baby.  So after long conversations with diapers.com we figured out what the problem was and they replaced my seat.  I'd just test it before you use it though.  

Are you going to take it on the beach?  I'd be concerned that the sand/saltwater would do a number on my expensive stroller.  We rented a beach stroller for just that reason...
