36 prefolds and 5 covers will be good for the first 6 weeks or so? Or should I also stock up on something the next size up (prefolds, fitteds, or pockets?) I like to be prepared;)  Thanks!

If you find a fold that works and the EBF doesn't get on the covers more than 5 times a day you are good.  Are you going to Snappi the prefolds?

I manage with 5 covers now, but she only poops once a day.  When she was a newborn she pooped like 4 times (if not more) a day until she was at least one month old.  So I had to try a bunch of different folds to contain it.

That should be just fine.  Maybe get a half dozen diapers in the next size up, so you have them on hand to try out when LO is big enough.  Then add more of the style you like the most.

That's a good bare bones stash.

If it's in the budget maybe add a few fitted and AIOs just in case you hate the prefolds.
