NT Scan and Possible Boy
Had my NT Scan this morning and all looks good. Baby is measuring a few days ahead of schedule at 13w2d. HB of 167.
I asked the U/S Tech if she would take a peek down below for me to see if she could see any boy/girl parts and she said she absolutely would. She warned that it was still very early and probably couldnt see anything depending on the position of the baby, etc. She took a peek down yonder and said "OK now if I tell you this, do you promise you won't run out and paint the nursery or buy anything."
Me: "Yes"
U/S Tech: "OK let me show you what I see here"
Me: "Oh My Gosh, you see a penis"
U/S Tech: (laughing) "Yes" and she proceeded to show me and there it was. A little weenus. She told me what she would see if it was a girl. She said it is pretty rare at this point to see things so clearly and that usually she cannot tell with much certainty, but she was pretty confident on her "guess".
I am not taking much stake in this, but I am pretty excited as we already have a DD at home. DH really wanted a boy. We just cant agree on boys names. We had our girl name all picked out (sigh)... guess we can at least start looking more into boy names while we wait for our Anatomy U/S.

GAHHH another person finding out - I will assume I'm having a girl bc they could not see anything - ha!
CONGRATS - glad you had a good scan.
Wow!! That is soo great! This is the 3rd post like this I saw where ladies could see "boys" at their NT Scans! I am soo hoping to have a guess at my scan next Wednesday!

LOL with my DD, I went in for my NT Scan totally not expecting anything (I had no idea anything could even be seen at this point) and the U/S Tech actually asked me if I wanted to know and she said she thought it was a girl - she was right! She wasn't as confident as my Tech this time though.
So I went into today thinking they were going to be able to tell me again and luckily they were at least able to give a decent guess or I would have been mad. Time will tell if they are right. It's amazing how clear the U/S photos are though - we could see alot.

A girl still has external genitalia at 13wks, though, so don't depend too much on it being a boy!

What did she say that she looked for girls or boys? The two lines v. three lines?
HE ~ She said something along the lines of looking for lines that will later descend into a labia.
To All ~ The tech did say that boys and girls both still have external genitalia at this point in the growth stage. Which is why she said it was just a guess and not to run out and paint or buy anything. So anyone who is "finding out" at this stage, it's just a guess and no one should bet the farm on it or anything. I said it my original post, I was not really taking it too seriously at this point and it was more just for fun.
With that said, the U/S Tech did say that with the correct angle she can definitely make an educated guess at this point. But again, it's just that, A GUESS and she said to wait until my anatomy scan for confirmation.
