  • Super late, but I will play anyway! :)

I'm Michelle- mom to Liam, wife to Gary. We have been married for almost 8 years, together for 11.5. DH is a cancer survivor and we conceived Liam via IUI after 3 failed IUI's and a failed IVF with ICSI.

I am a fulltime Acct. Manager and Gary is on submarines in the US Navy. We live in Southeastern CT.

**edited to add** I am 33 years old and I am aspiring to learn more about photography in the hopes to make it a side business. I am just getting started but having lots of fun with my camera! :)

My name is Charla and I've been married almost six years. After three years of TTC and three miscarriages we have two beautiful children, both of whom were conceived spontaneously.

I left a career in public relations to be a SAHM when my son was born. My husband and I live in Nashville proper, where he was raised. I'm originally from Florida (a rare fifth-generation Floridian!).

My only hobby these days is reading and I'm really into politics! Before kids my husband and I loved to travel and we're very excited to be planning our first kid-free getaway for next February!

ETA: I'll be 39 in November! EEK!

I am really late, and this is such a long thread, that probably no one will ever get to me anyway...

I am Laura, married to my DH for almost 9 years (will be in August).

We were TTC for 18 months before we got pg with DS on our second round of clomid/trigger/b2b IUIs.  I had hypothyroidism diagnosed during our IF workup, as well as one blocked tube.  DH had low morph (2-3%)

DD was a surprise - I had weaned DS at 6 months to go back to the RE in 3 months, but never got AF.  DD came along 9 months later Smile

I am a physician and work nights, so I get to spend days with my kiddos.  So I am on here during nap time, and occasionally super late at night!

  • I know I'm late joining the post, but here it goes anyway...

My name is Shannon and I am 30.  My 5th anniversary is next Friday with my husband Trey.  I am so thankful every single day for my two beautiful girls, Reagan and Madilynn.  Reagan was conceived with  Clomid + trigger + TI and Madilynn was conceived with injectibles.

I live in Virginia, but I am from Ohio and I miss my family terribly.  I love baking, cooking, reading, watching tv, and traveling.  I am a 9th grade English teacher, and I am loving having this time off  to spend with my girls!

  • I'm Destiny. I'm 28 and DH is 31. DH & I have been married for 5 years this past July 22 but have been together since 2001.  :)  We started TTC in May'07 (started right away with RE). Became pregnant for the first time in April '08, m/c, and proceeded to have 5 other miscarriages between then and March '10 (March '10 cycle was our last, resulting in m/c #6). Our twins (7wks) and triplets (9 wks) were two of those pregnancies. All pregnancies were from Follistim+HCG+TI.

We made the decision to pursue adoption in December '09, started with our attorney in February '10 & God gave us the absolute best gift we will ever receive on October 2, 2010, our precious little boy Noah. Every single drop of tears and every piece of heartache was worth my little boy. He is by far the best thing that has ever happened to me. :)

I'm a student coordinator and DH is an Electrical Engineer.  We met at AU when we were both in the marching band.

  • I'm Nicole, I'm 29, married to Chris (32) for 5 years in November, together for 7 in December. We chucked the birth control 6 months before our wedding and found out in November 2008 that IVF w/ ICSI was our only option. We lost a son and a blighted ovum on our first attempt and had our twins on our second attempt after 16 weeks of bedrest (7 hospitalized) for PTL.

My husband is a software engineer on a government contract for a major engineering company and I worked in advertising for 4 years before being injured and my employer was sold. I stay at home now and am writing a book and building an invitation/announcement/thank you portfolio to start my own business.

  • I am Lisa. I am 28 (29 on monday!) and have been married for 4 years. I have 2 beautiful girls ages 7 and 18 months. DD # 1 was an unmedicated surprise, after that I met and  married my DH (new partner) and began struggling with secondary IF (severe MFI and annovulatory cycles). We finally hade success with our 3rd IUI w/ clomid and follistim, after my DH spent 4 months on hcg injects to increase his sperm count/motility!

We are currently TTC # 3 using the the 2 fresh samples we froze before my H stopped the hcg injects. We have done 2 IUI's both BFN and are considering moving onto IVF this fall.

I am a PTWAHM = part time work at home mom :) and I love to shop, hike, exercise, go out to eat, travel, and spend time with my girls!

  • Cheeseandrice, do us old ladies have to play too?

Tracie, age 38. Met Davez 10 years ago, and finally agreed to marry him after 3 years. (mistake? jury is still out. lol.)

We love to travel, and bicker. Drink wine, eat things we know are bad for us, and have "family fun time" with our totally adorb daughter Ava. Who is 3.   I am a nurse on sebatical, and a family & child photog. Davez is a drug dealer. (Big Pharma)

Our pregnancy history is disgusting, to say the least. I've been pregnant 12 times, most left us right away. Tons of injectible/IUI cycles, plus IVF in CostaRica/Panama, and 2 more fresh cycles stateside since. (with an additional 2 FETs, soon to be 3rd) I have no fricken idea what's wrong with me, and I'm starting to not really care. I just want to mother others.

  • I'm Laura and I'm 33.  I've been married to Dan (in case you couldn't guess his name) for 5.5 years.  We met at a bar...funny because I'm a bit tipsy right now.  We have 2 beautiful babies.  Hannah is our IVF baby and she's 2.  Joshua is our FET baby and he is 5.5 months.  The rest of my IF history is in my siggy.  Before kids I was an elementary teacher at an inner city school in Detroit.  I'm currently a SAHM and think it's the best job ever.

I don't sleep at night, ever.  My adorable baby boy has decided that sleep isn't necessary and so we're in the process of doing some sort of sleep training.  I suck at it so it's taking forever.  To make matters even more complicated he has decided to flip to his tummy every time we set him in the crib.  The tummy sleeping isn't super concerning to me at this age but the fact that he face plants into the matress and tries to sleep that way is very concerning.  I was in his room 10 (yes, TEN) times last night turning his head to ensure he could breathe.

So DH and I decided to have a lunch date today and I had a few (or more) drinks and so I'm pumping and dumping right now :)

  • I feel like I'm on some strange12 step program meeting thing....Hi!  I'm Marissa and I did IVF.  I'm 32 and will be 33 in a week or so.  I have a 13 year old son.  He was 4 when I met my husband who is 40.  We met in February of 2002 and  married July 10, 2004 :)    Due to me having stage 1 cervical cancer that was removed through surgery, we were told to use IVF to conceive.  Through the testing they found that I have PCOS and my husband has 1% normal morphology.   Our first IVF with ICSI was successful and we have our twins who will be 6 on September 17.  When the twins were 16 months old we found out that I became pregnant on our own.  He was born not quite 2 years after Jon and Matthew as his birthday is September 13th, 2007.

I grew up in a tiny town in central PA called Renovo and went to Lock Haven University getting a degree in Special Education.  I graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a degree as a Reading Specialist in December.  I've not worked since I had Chris but have been trying to find a  job for 2 year.   Doesn't look like I have a job for this school year either.  I taught in Harford County, MD; East Stroudsburg, PA; Bedminster, NJ, and in Hillsborough, NJ.  RIght now to pass the time I've started special education advocating and tutoring special needs kids in reading.  To me there's nothing more liberating than the ability to read!

I'm also networking in the special needs community as I have 3 kids with special needs.  Matthew's "label" is still to be determined.  Jon has PDD_NOS and Chris has a 16p11.2 duplication and an expressive communication disorder.  Rather than sit in a corner and cry about the boys, I am becoming active in my community with special needs parents.  Yesterday I was chosen to be Co-president of the Special Education PTA in our school district  :)

  • I'm Rachel, I'm 28 and have been married 7.5 years to the best guy I've ever know. I've been on the board (and previously TTTC) since the first week it was started back in... 2007?  I have 2 kiddos, IVF and adoption. I live in WI, but just moved here from Chi where DH did his residency. We are from the twin cities and now plan to grow old where we are!

I stay home and also run a photography business out of my home.

Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! • Kristin here!  ::waves hi to anyone still reading::

I'm a mom to Andrew, my amazing 23 weeker who decided to join us waaay too soon.  That was after it took waaay too long to conceive him - he was the result of our third IVF.  He just turned one and is doing fantastic! We don't ever want to repeat 147 days in the NICU (or worse...) so we are planning on adopting #2 and starting that process sometime this year.

We're also in the process of moving back to my hometown, which is exciting.  I work p/t (keeping my job and working remotely) and love it.  My DH and I have been married 5 years, and we love to travel.  We're looking forward to a new kind of travel - one with a toddler involved!!

Love this board for all the support, advice, and friendships it has brought me!

  • My name is Kristen and I'm 32 yo. I've been married over 4 years and have an almost 16 month old and #2 on the way, both thanks to IF treatments. I work FT for an educational NFP and have my Ed.M. in Higher Ed Admin. I grew up in the Buffalo, NY area but have lived in Central IL for 10 years.

ETA: I guess I should have been a bit more descriptive. I'm a total interloper...I bounce around between several boards and have been a member of the Knot, Nest, Bump since well before I got married.

RE IF: I always knew I would have problems getting pg since I was a teenager. I never had regular cycles and would sometimes go up to a year without having a period. So, I wasn't surprised to find out that I have PCOS w/IR. Metformin has done wonders for me in the general controlling of IR but wasn't super helpful in making my ovulations of better quality, so after m/c's and ectopic, we moved on to IF meds and have had great success. I found the IF community on the Bump to be incredibly helpful during our trials getting pg w/DS.

My name is Susanne.  I am 38 (and a half!) and DH and I have been married for 5 years.  We have one cute little daughter named Madison!  She is 2 1/2 months old and our little IVF miracle.  Right now I am a SAHM...used to be a dental assistant...and will soon be doing it all on my own because DH is getting ready to deploy soon for 6-8 months.  He is a dentist with the Navy and serving with the Marines.

And...wait for it....we are going to be trying for #2 after he gets back.  That is the first time I have posted that!  We were going to be one and done but we just don't feel 100% complete as a family.

  • I'm Linette and I'll be 39 in Sept.  DH, who is 49,  and I have been married for 4 1/2 yrs.  We have a beautiful 16 mo. old daughter.  I'm an office manager for a law enforcement agency and DH is a cop.

DD is a clomid baby.  It took us 1 1/2 yrs to conceive and finally had success after the 7th cycle with Clomid.  After cycle 6 on Clomid, my doc felt that my numbers had been good enough to risk one more cycle.  We did and were greatly blessed for it.

My IF journey began during my first marriage.  I was diagnosed as unexplained though I had several symptoms of PCOS.  Ex-DH had horrible motility and counts.  We tried for 6 1/2 yrs and failed at every attempt.

We're one and done - I think.  DH has mentioned a few times making DD a big sister so I don't know what the future might hold.

This is such a great board.  I hate that my job has had me so busy that I can rarely post but I try to lurk often to keep up with everyone.  I can't wait to read the whole thread to get to know all the newbies, lurkers included!

  • Hi!  I am Melissa and I am late!

I am 34 years old and have a 3 year old through IVF and am currently almost 21 weeks pregnant with baby #2 also through IVF.  We are unexplained.  I married a German man about 7 years ago and many of my posts involve the "drama" that comes with cross-cultural marriage :-)

For a living I work as a high-risk OB nurse in a hospita.  After having my son, I work two 12 hour night shifts a week.  I had a home birth with my son and am planning another CNM -assisted homebirth with this baby.
