I had my first FET yesterday (my first transfer was fresh and 5 days after retrieval). Today I am quite bloated- something I did not expect. I also experienced cramping today. My doctor did say that might happen, but it did not happen after my fresh transfer. Are these things normal? Especially the bloat that is making me feel more emotional than I already am?
Thanks ladies for your help!
Re: What was your experience after your FET?
Hi Kristendianne - you and I are on the same track! I had my first FET on Friday 7/22! My first IVF fresh cycle - I also had an early loss..
Was your FET 5 or 3 day? How many did you transfer? Mine was a 5 day blasts .. I transferred 2 embies, so we'll see..
I was feeling really crampy yesterday (4dpt5dt) - but today not too much .. I guess everyone is different, but I'm crossing my fingers for you!!
Yes, I'm definitely bloated .. but I feel like I've been bloated since I started the prep of my FET cycle (1 month ago).. Estrogen patches, progesterone & lupron shots .. just makes me bloated! ...
When is your beta? My blood test is scheduled on Sunday (7/31) .. Just wish time would go by faster ..
Hi Kristendianne! My first IVF was fresh and I transfered 1 embryo (6 day blastocyle transfer). My second was an FET, and also only transfered 1 embryo (again 6 day blastocyte).
For my fresh I felt a little cramped and bloated the next day but not too bad. I pretty much just hung out on the sofa all day.
For my FET I felt more crampy the next day. I was crossing my fingers that they were good cramps and that meant the embryo was implanting. I was almost afraid to move, becuase I didn't want to knock anything out of place! LOL!
I really think it depends on the meds you are on too. After my fresh I was on Estradol (estrogen) pills and Endometrium (suppositories). But for my FET, I was on Del Estrogen IM shots and POI IM shots. The IMs are more potent and I felt that my body had more side effects on these meds (cramps, bloating, etc). So it might be more the meds you are on this time around with it being a FET.
I hope this helps!
GL!

At 20-week anatomy scan found IUGR (Intrauterine Growth Restriction), and very low Amniotic Fluid. Now, I'm High Risk and have weekly ultrasounds to monitor fluid and growth. If baby runs out of room or is too growth restricted, they will deliver ASAP. My current goal is to make it to 28 weeks!
I was insanely bloated after my IVF transfer. I was also bloated for my FET- but not quite as much. In the weeks since I've gotten a lot of compliments on losing 20 pounds but I haven't lost or gained anything. Yay bloat.
I cramped off and on all the way through my two week wait- and I had a positive beta
The cramping didn't taper off until about 5 weeks pregnant. I wasn't more emotional per se, but PIO makes me really cuddly and social- and that persisted until a day or two after I stopped the shots.
