Have you tried seabands for morning sickness?

Hi ladies, I am expecting my second baby and around 6 weeks pregnant. I have horrible morning sickness which is pretty much lasting me all day.  I need some kind of relief and read somewhere that seabands may help?  Anyone try this?  Or please recommend any other type of morning sickness relief that you have tried.

Re: Have you tried seabands for morning sickness?

  • i just made an acupuncture appt. for tomorrow because the zofran they prescribed didn't work and now the dr prescribed compazine, which i am refusing to take. the acupuncturist asked me if i tried the sea bands and i did, but they didn't work. she said to bring them with to my appt. because i probably had them in the wrong place. i'm hoping this helps because the 24/7 nausea is a drag!

  • For me the Sea Bands tend to take the edge off but I don't feel all that great.

Taking Vitamin B-6 with Unisom before bed has helped a ton.   I woke up with no morning sickness after trying it for the first time last night.

  • I have worn them pretty much nonstop [except to shower] for the past 2 weeks. I forgot 1 nite to put them back on post shower and felt horrible not sure if it was them or just a bad evening. But the B-6 3 times a day and unisom at nite I have been living by and trying to eat as often as possible...oh how I hate the m/s

  • They worked for me. I wasn't even sure they were working because I wasn't feeling 100%, but a co-worker is expecting too, and I lent them to her to try, and had to ask for them back after 30 minutes because I was feeling so sick!

It may have just been "in my head" but they work. :)

  • I haven't experienced MS yet, but I've been using seabands for years.  I use them when I'm on a boat, for long car trips & have used them when I had a hangover. They definitely help with feelings of nausea, and from the hangover experience I can even say nausea that isn't motion sickness related.

  • I tried them and they didn't work, they were also too tight and hurt to wear for a long time. Waste of money for me.

  • They really helped me.  I still had mild m/s, but if I didn't wear them it was 10x worse.

  • Honestly, I'm not sure that they work for me. But when I had 24 hr. nausea I wore them anyway, because they didn't make me feel worse, and I was afraid to see what I felt like without them!

I'm also doing the B6 - 25mg 3x day, and I can't say for sure if it helps.

I'm starting to think the only thing that will make this better is patience and the passage of time. Which is horrifying to think about :)
