Need an OB and hospital recommendations in/near Ridgefield, CT

My husband and I plan to begin try to conceive with the year, and I want to make sure I'm all set with a great doctor.  Does anyone have any recommendations for a doctor practicing in the Ridgefield area?

In conjunction with that, I'm trying to get people's thoughts on hospitals.  I have heard mixed reviews of Danbury.

Thanks!

  • I used CT Childbirth and Women's Center in Danbury. Cathy Parisi was my midwife. https://www.ctbirthcenter.com/midwives.htm I did see all the midwives and they were all very nice. Unfortuantely, I had to have a c-section. The midwives are affiliated with https://www.wha-ct.com/home/default.asp . All the doctors I met in that group were great too.

I am from Danbury originally but now live in Southington. I made the drive because I love the midwives in that group. They have a free standing birth center if we want a natural birth. You can also deliver at Danbury Hospital and have pain medications/epidurals if you want. They are into making it the best experience for you.

I delivered at Danbury Hospital and had a really good experience. The nurses were really good. I felt they were pushy about trying to get me to take narcotic pain medication after my csection when I only wanted motrin. I stood my ground and it was fine. They have a really nice lunch/dinner for mom and dad after you deliver (you choose the day time).

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

  • I also recommend the CT Childbirth Center - I've met all of the midwives and they are absolutely wonderful.  If you don't want to deliver at the birth center, you still have the option of delivering at Danbury hospital.  They are affiliated with Women's Health Associates in Danbury.
