Tip for new moms

Someone mentioned it in a post below but I thought I'd bring it up here too

One good tip I learned when pg with DS was to put money on a gift card every time I went shopping.  I'd add $10-15 to a Target GC every time I went and by the time DS was born I had nearly $300 on there. 

I EP'd and cloth diapered so there wasn't that expense but it was nice for the little things like extra bibs, pacis, lotion, baby wash, etc.  That stuff adds up fast!  It was also nice to have that cushion to buy groceries on maternity leave since mine doesn't pay much.

Brilliant.  So doing this.  Last time, whenever they had em, I got Pampers on sale with the free Target gift card throughout my pregnancy.  Then, I saved all the gift cards!  I would wait till I had a 1 or 2 dollar coupon and then go.  I had a big stock of dipes and TONS of those gift cards by time baby was here and "extra money."  ;0)

This is a fantastic idea! Will have to discuss it with DH; we are budgeting pretty strictly these days.

EP = exclusively pumping. I didn't want to breastfeed so I pumped and bottle fed DS
