In the fall/winter, did/will your toddler wear long sleeve, cute onesies with pants? Or is that a baby thing?
I am shopping on the Carter's online sale and am not sure how I feel about onesies.
If they wear a long sleeve shirt and pants, and it's cold out, do you put a long sleeve onesie on under their shirt, or is that also a baby thing?

This.
Yea, the walking around wearing a onesie thing is what I'm not sure of. My girl is not walking yet, but I'm having a hard time picturing her in a onesie and running around this winter. Seems babyish. But I'm all for wearing a onesie under a shirt when it's cold, especially since daycare takes the toddlers outside every day.

I'm wondering the same. We have a few right now but don't really use them. But, it's insanely cold here in the winter and we take DS to DCP in a stroller, so I like the idea for a little extra warmth. I'm not sure what I'll do yet, maybe just buy a small pack of them and see if we actually use them.
(ps, hi!
Hi!!! I can't believe I belong on the toddler board already. Time needs to slow down!

Now that Tegan is walking, I am not a fan of the way a onesie and pants look on her. I bought her a few onesies in 18 month size and she's only worn a couple of them because I'm just not a fan of the look. Fortunately, I have some friends who have LOs who will fit into them next summer.
However, if it was really cold outside (it rarely gets truly cold here) then I'd probably put a short sleeve or long sleeve white onesie under a sweater, if we were going to be outside for an extended period of time. As far as daycare goes, which is where she wears a majority of her clothes, I don't think I'd send her with a onesie underneath a top. I'd be afraid that she'd get too warm while inside. We're babies here when it comes to the cold and they wouldn't even take the kids outside to play if it was going to be in the 40s or lower.
LO lives in the onepeice romper style ones in the summer. I love them because they are lightweight and are shorts and a t-shirt all in one.
I also use longsleeve onesies under t-shirts to layer on colder days and in the fall.
But, that is about it.

I was never a fan of onesies as part of outfits, except on newborns and really young infants. Once they are walking, I think it definitely looks very babyish.
DD did wear plain white onesies under her clothes and pj's in the winter for extra warmth, but I think by the time winter rolls around this year I will just buy her those tank/camisole style undershirts.

DS still has a few. I will definitely use them for layers come winter, it can get really cold.
Occassionally he will wear an outfit or two now with a onesie, my little guy has no butt and some of his outfit pants don't fit, by wearing the onesie the pants seem to stay better. He is all torso and grows out of sizes in the tops, onesies, before he grows out of the pants. I see no problem with onesies.
We use onesies everyday here. It's winter and hovering around the 35 mark so it's cold, cold, cold. DS only ever wears onesies as underwear though. I think they're weird, like a PP said, as a tucked in t-shirt. Right now DS is wearing a l/s onesie, a l/s t-shirt and a pair of jeans. He's still crawling too so extra important.
As soon as we start PT, hopefully in springtime, we'll stop using them. Next winter we'll just buy a few s/s merino t-shirts that he can wear as vests, under his shirts.
My DD is 23 months old and still wears onsie at night and on days were we think she needs one.At a year she was still wearing them and I plan on having some for her for the fall/winter.Even if she wears a long sleeve shirt , I want one underneath that, she tends to pick up her shirt and I like for her to have some coverage.
She is also like me and is not that fond of sweaters-so this way we have layers but it is not too bulky. Also if it is a nice day in the fall-I can just put a cute onsie on her with pants and her jacket.
occasionally she does, but certainly not every day. she is in the habit of pulling her shirts up to show off her bellybutton lately.
i put her in rompers too. it's hot outside dudes! lol.
Same here.
