After a marathon 2 hour pre-IVF appointment we have our protocol and schedule! I thought we were going to do the anatgonist protocol, but it looks like we're doing Lupron instead. It's completely overwhelming right now, but I'm just going to take it one day at a time.
The plan: BCPs start today, Lupron starts 8/5 and stims start 8/16 (Gonal-F and Luveris). Estimated ER is 8/27 with ET 8/30 or 9/1. It still seems so far away, but at least things are starting to happen!!

I'm so glad you have an idea of what you'll be doing and when!
My approach to the suppression phase was to try to squeeze in a lot of fun things that I wouldn't be able to do (like tubing), or just might not feel like doing for a little while. It worked for me - I had some fun, and the weeks passed pretty quickly.
Good luck!

Very exciting news! It must be nice to be able to look at the calendar and feel that you can plan things now that you know with some more certainty when your appointments could be. I can't wait to hear how it goes, and I am interested to hear more about UW's program in general. Their offices are right by my house, but I couldn't find anyone who had used them for IVF, so we opted for SRM, but we are still just testing and I am not married to them as my provider yet. I'm still keeping an open mind and taking note of my interactions with the staff as we do this prelim stuff. We are OOP 100%, so I want to be sure we are treated right!
Again, All the Best to You!
This protocol thing is all a mystery to me. I'm trusting that they chose this one for a reason, but I think I'll ask them about it next time I'm in. My RE is always great about explaining things, so hopefully be able to demystify.
UOduck--we looked at SRM and UW before deciding on UW. SRM is very nice, and some of the doctors are great. I actually did most of my initial testing with them. But I *loved* the doctor I saw at UW, and since we started with IUI's, I was good with starting there. We actually thought about switching for IVF, but I'm feeling pretty good about things now. And the big benefit is the cost--IVF at UW is about $3000 cheaper than SRM (at least on paper, we'll see how much we actually end up spending). Hopefully this was the right choice, but we'll see! So far so good.

I can't wait to set up my little pharmacy! I get the Lupron next week, and I'll pick the rest up at my suppression check on 8/15. I love having all this on my calendar, it makes it seem more real somehow.
Are you still on vacation, McIrish? We are headed to Montana for a long weekend before all this stim/monitoring/blood draw craziness starts. It will be nice to spend a few days lounging by the lake.
