Keeping infant warm question

Hey ladies - this might be a silly question but I think we all know that winters in Canada are cold and I was just wondering what you did to keep an infant warm in the winter? The reason I ask is that I have heard that baby wearing a snowsuit could impede a car seat from working in a car accident and I have also heard that one of those "bundle me" things is considered a harzard and it would also impede the car seat from working properly and void your warranty. I have heard that if anything that this is what should be used https://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=4239947 because it doesn't go in the car seat but on the outside.

Thoughts please.
